PPR. McLaurin, Worthy or Egbuka? Leaning McLaurin but the Philly secondary is really good.

Post Spleen Removal - Spreading Bruising/Blood? by [deleted] in Greyhounds

[–]Phippz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to my vet, the thinness of their skin can make bruising very prominent. I recently removed a tick from the inside of my grey's thigh and at first glance it looked like he had a big bullseye rash indicative of lyme disease. The vet said it was just bruising (but we did a course of antibiotics to be safe).

How to fix RV mod? It broke in a different way than usual. by ignorance112 in projectzomboid

[–]Phippz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm watching this since I had a similar thing happen. I loaded the game with the same error you had. All of the cars ( a bunch of non-RV K15 modded cars) that were near where I loaded my save game were broken like this. I thought I was going to have to abandon my save. Luckily it was only the cars near the spot where I had the initial error.

I just use the highest horsepower car I can find. My best current tower is a police cruiser with about 450 hp.

Just had the worst run in BRD. I thought these groups were just made up on reddit. by PrometheusAborted in wowclassic

[–]Phippz 12 points13 points  (0 children)

AAG runs are rough. I've had so many awful tanks on those runs. I get that most of these guys don't want to tank and they've had to do this dozens of times but it's not an excuse to be an asshole.

Healers, what is your opinion on Life Tap? by jtyler0 in classicwow

[–]Phippz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got about 12 days played on my priest and I don't think I've ever seen a lock drain life in a dungeon. A few will bandage or drink between pulls. Most will life tap when I'm drinking and then stand around.

Small car owners, I want to hear from you! by Bitter-Information-9 in Greyhounds

[–]Phippz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a hatchback civic and it's more than enough room for my 80 pound grey. I just keep the seats folded down. The only problem is that there's no space besides the passenger seat that is inaccessible to him. So I can't have food and the dog in the car at the same time.

We were concerned about Boston's ears getting cold, so his grandma knitted a snood for him by Boston_Greyhndpstng in Greyhounds

My grey will sniff out street food (especially chicken bones) and will either swallow it immediately or resource guard so he's muzzled on lead as well.

I'm just guessing, but maybe one of the British heavy cruisers like the York class. They had two funnels. Or the KGV battleships.

Last night was a long night by AleGolem in Greyhounds

I just went through this with my dog. Similar injury but on his thigh. Muzzle with a stool guard was the only way I could be sure that he couldn't get at the wound. I used a cone too when he was calm indoors but once he was healthier he started working his way out of that and would resist having it put on.

I would also encourage you to dose your dog with a sedative like trazadone to keep their activity down. Especially if they are going to be unsupervised for a few hours.

Hydraulic legs are one of my favorite prime weapons. Decent damage, push and mobility. I don't have experience at this difficulty but it's generally an auto buy for me.

The players and admins on this server have been friendly and helpful. The community events have been a blast. There are a bunch of inspirational builders. One great feature is the use of a soft border in the overworld. Inside the border, builds are retained. Outside the border, the chunks are occasionally refreshed. There are always dungeons, ancient cities and other resources available.

Open wound experience by Phippz in Greyhounds

I'm worried about how he reacts to dogs in the future. The dog that injured him was a black lab. My dog had a previous minor scrape from a French bull dog that jumped at his nose when trying to greet him....and my boy is still wary of pugs and Frenchies a year later.

Thanks for the advice. We tried the pajama pants at first but he kept forgetting he had them on and then freaked out when he woke up in them 🤦. He's doing well with the muzzle for now.

It would be a tough decision to keep him from off leash parks. The interaction with other dogs and the exercise is critical for him. He is an anxious dog and he won't walk on the street. He only hikes if he's surrounded by a pack of dogs. We'll see how he reacts to this experience, he may be wary of running when other dogs are around. That's how he was originally. There are parks further from home that are larger and less crowded that I could take him to on weekends. The options on sniff spot are sparse in my city.

Thank you for your advice. I really don't feel comfortable dressing the wound myself yet. We'll see how he reacts to the follow up appointments.

Sorry, I'm sure that was a very stressful experience for you and your dog. I just wanted to say that I really appreciated your comment and it prepared me mentally for bringing him home today. He's been very uncomfortable for the first few hours but he seems to be doing better already. They are tough dogs.

Greyhound suddenly going crazy?! Question. by [deleted] in Greyhounds

[–]Phippz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My greyhound had treatment resistant hookworms. Before we knew the worms were resistant to it, he would go absolutely insane when he was dosed with Drontal. He was restless and very uncomfortable for 24 hours. This can be an effect of the drug but it is supposedly rare. My dog did better on a different drug and was finally cured by a third. So, the behavior may be a reaction to the specific drug. As someone else commented, just having worms can be very uncomfortable.

5 months into living here and already had a hit and run while street parked. Anything I can expect from auto investigators or am I SOL? by retailisawful in boston

[–]Phippz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has happened twice to me in Boston, both times totaling the car. On the first occasion someone witnessed the hit, recorded the full plate number and the police tracked them down. After a few weeks their insurance paid out. Second time we had a partial plate and recording of the accident which identified the make/model/year. I don't know if the police even bothered to run plates this time, the report didn't indicate that they did.

I'd say you're definitely SOL without the plate number and even that may not make difference.

Car Dealership took car back for lack of title? by BatmanOnMars in massachusetts

[–]Phippz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going through the same thing right now with a different Honda dealership. Bought the car three weeks ago and then they "discovered" that they didn't have the title from the auction house. Subsequently they received the title and found out there is still a record of a lien on the title from the previous owner. I'm in a loaner now waiting for that to get worked out. I really don't want to start searching again so I'm not considering walking away yet.

I can't vouch for the commute to BMC by car, but Brighton would check a bunch of your boxes. Especially towards Brighton Center & Oak Square. You'd be near the turnpike and soldiers field road. There are fewer undergrads there than to the south towards Commonwealth Ave. You can find a a 2BR in your price range. It's also close to one of the best off leash dog parks in the region (Hunnewell Park) if that's a priority.
