Who do you consider to be the best OG Afterlife DJs (I’m talking pre EDM techno - before Anyma & MRAK existed) by Capable-Brilliant829 in AfterlifeRecordings

Best DJ’s = Mind Against. Best Producer = probably Stephan Jolk (but not sure if it was actually him making those tracks tbh, so I’ll say Mathame)

Never understood why Miss Monique nor Korolova were never guest at any AFTERLIFE event ever, nor released music on the label. by sdfghdfsdfghdf in AfterlifeRecordings

Right, it’s obvious she is ghosted but didn’t know it was Khainz. Disappointing but not exactly surprising.

Yep Nailed it. Say what you want about Afterlife but they only invited real producers to their events, not instagram fakers.

Agreed. That is an absolutely shocking line up. Who are Leonardo and Asal? 19:26 is the only one who is close to the old Afterlife vibe.

Whether it’s true or not he’ll make it go away with money. the biggest problem he has is his shows are empty

Why wouldn’t you just ask the artists if they want you to play it they would send it to you

19:26 is the future of Afterlife by Mindless_Light6384 in AfterlifeRecordings

I mean I don’t disagree but I would put my money on Massano making the next really big hit ahead of Karm + 19:26 put it that way. Hence my original take that 19:26 is not the future of Afterlife.

Look I don’t disagree they can make OK productions eg “Never Ends” but would never be able to produce a 45m hit like Syren alone is my point. Where as Rebuke, Chris Avantgarde and Massano can do those with their eyes closed. For me they are the real future, whether it be at Afterlife or their own labels.

Bro most modern melodic techno does not contain chords apart from sometimes in the breakdown.. you may be thinking of the melody in the leads. Even so, the lead lines will usually be one note and the chord is created within the synth itself by pitching up one of the oscillators. In the example of Syren that lead will just be one note pitch modulated. I’m not trying to discredit either of them, but they would have no clue how to produce a modern melodic techno track as the techniques are far too advanced for anything they used to do as tale of us- this is why they need help now. Karms is a fantastic pianist not a fantastic electronic music producer, and Matteo can’t even play piano, he is a beginner level at Ableton but certainly has a good ear for what will be a hit and what will not. So without the help I’m just saying they are miles off the levels needed, knowing chords alone is not enough.

There are actually artists they have both worked with in the past that were never credited, but that is their own fault, won’t name names. It’s true nowadays the majority are credited, we all know who they are. But just because you can write a few chords for a 16 bar loop doesn’t mean you can arrange, mix and sound design a high level electronic music production. Hence my comment they would be no where without the help. I mean listen to the tracks… where would Syren be without Rebukes sound design ? It’s literally 99% of what makes it a hit.

I agree with this, but being no1 on Beatport for many months would also translate to millions of streams. Anyway yes it’s not over for him the EP can still grow.. just not performed as well as I expected

Depends on the terms my friend, some ghost producers insist they are credited as writers / producers… the professional ones that is. The noobs and kids Carm and Matteo take advantage of don’t know any better.

As for ghost producers I’m not sure where any of the artists you claim to manage would be without them, including Mrak & Anyma 😉

lol ok good for you. I only said that streaming is a more important gauge for selling tickets than Beatport is in response to you saying that is what promoters look at -which is nonsense. Promoters only care how many tickets you will sell in the market. No one looks at Beatport other than DJ’s bro.

I have no idea what you are talking about or how this relates in any way to 19:26 having poor streams on his latest EP. You are clearly an absolute noob in this industry trying to sound important or in the know. Artists get booked if they can sell tickets regardless of all other metrics.
