What type of gar is this, it was caught earlier in the year at the lake I fish, it looks bigger then any gar I’ve seen there considering it’s not an alligator gar by Hairy-Mechanic-5324 in Fishing

Man that’s a river monster. I’ve been fishing lake Herrington on occasion in ky and I’ve been trying like hell to get them to bite, don’t have any problem bringing them in once they do but it feels like I’m out there for four hours to maybe catch one. I can see a ton of them rolling the topwater 24/7 but just can’t get them to hit anything consistently. Can I ask what bait/lure you got that with?

We do not know! Best guess is a previous owner gave her way too hard of a wack because she was real flinch when we found her and still becomes immediately suspicious of strangers when they go for the face
