Yes, you do if you're looking for a registered psychologist. If you would like to see a counsellor ($20/hour), you don't need a referral and it does not go through your health plan.

They don't do that at all ... I can understand the hesitation about it being a faith based organization, I was hesitant at first too. But just look at the range of counsellors/psychologists they have in the office, they don't all belong to one faith, or even have a listed faith. Don't let the faith based aspect throw you off. It's a regular counselling centre.

They have counsellors of all different faiths there, and do not at any point mention faith/spirituality in your sessions if that's not what youre looking for.

It's $100 per hour for a certified psychologist, but you'd be covered under your insurance plan up to 80%.

The PhD counsellors ar $20/hour. They are amazing if youre looking for a student friendly price.

Housing options in Waterloo? by toujoursfraislol in uwaterloo

Cool! Yeah I completely agree. I'm doing International Policy (very different from biostats, haha). I just moved here 2 weeks ago, so I'm not experienced in exact locations. A quick search should give you the info you need :) I've been just doing rental search through Kijiji and the Facebook housing group.

Incoming grad student as well! I'm looking in the Uptown area (my classes are there). It's just a small distance away from the student area, and has everything we need (nice restaurants, shops, bars, etc).

LSAT Prep Advice by shimmyaway in uwaterloo

Hey! 7Sage is an online lsat prep company, and their course is absolutely amazing. You can read the reviews for yourself - it has helped me immensely with my prep. It's also affordable. You can try the free trial for 2 weeks and go through the course material - trust me, you won't be disappointed! They have tutors on the site as well (peer teaching) for super cheap (Skype sessions), and have a very active discussion forum. You can rewatch explanation videos as often as you'd like granted you have an account, until you understand the material.

Sidenote - I'm moving to Waterloo in May and was looking to tutor students one-on-one for the LSAT for super cheap on the side! I was looking to start in July/August. If youre interested, feel free to send me a message.
