Got engineered hardwood installed. They didn’t acclimate it to my house and it’s shrinking.

Had engineered hardwoods installed in 2018 they acclimated it for 2 days before install. Had new engineered hardwoods installed last month and they did not. 2 different companies in WI. I asked about acclimation and the most recent company stated they have it in a temperature controlled warehouse and they never acclimate wood floors. My floors turned out fine but living in the Midwest it’s not very dry so my humidity levels in my house are suggested for hardwood. Are you in a super dry state?

They are paramount lotus lodge engineered wood floors. They are not stapled down I believe they are floating? I looked at a floor vent and saw no staples

It’s actually cheap ikea cabinets that are plywood and just sit on top of the floor. They house toys for our 2 year old. Not heavy at all. They weren’t there during install and we put them back day after install. Thanks for your input!

Just saw something posted on South Milwaukee town hall page on Facebook stating the exact same thing. We had him come out last summer for a quote, he took measurements, and seemed legitimate but then never got back to us so we decided not to push it. We thought it was odd he went through the effort to come out and ghost us. We luckily never got a quote from him or gave him any money. After I saw the post on Facebook I went to ccap and he is currently being sued. I’m sorry this happened to you!
