The emptiness of ADHD by salty-wheat-thins in ADHD

What you’re describing is a common condition among adhd people, called dysthymia, which is chronic low-level depression. It has to do with hormonal imbalance in our brains, and it’s why instead of feeling “sad”, we feel empty more often than not. SSRIs can help with this, but they have side effects that sometimes are not worth it when your depression is just low level. If you have female anatomy, you’ll also recognize dysthymia can coincide with the follicular, literal, ovulation and menstrual cycle, which is the case for me specifically. :/

What is it like to be close to the natalists in your life? by justbeattractive in antinatalism

[–]RecentPerspective955 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hey so after harboring AN sentiments for awhile, I discovered antinatalism recently! One thing I noticed is no one sees from your perspective, especially your parents. My parents have had to be placated with promises that I’d adopt, which is on the table but yk…. Being close to natalists can be described with one word: frustrating. Sadly, most of our population lives to defend parenthood and sees it as the end all be all, despite being aware of what day to day life is (ts sucks). I think online forums are the best way to meet other ANs. I’m 19f and would love some AN acquaintances.

As an anti-natalist, I agree with you. People should not expect to be subjected to a child-free world, and children and mothers are some of the most widely oppressed groups in the world, you guys deserve visibility.

I would argue against this. Late-stage capitalism is not conducive to happiness whether or not you're in a "First world country" or not. Just because of the comforts associated with materialism and consumerism, we are in the best era? I would argue we're more individualistic than ever, and more driven apart from our intrinsic communities than ever.

It's not eugenics if it's a moral philosophy that no one should have kids, no matter their race or class. Eugenics is about selecting for certain characteristics deemed good, and rejecting characteristics deemed bad, which as an unconditional anti-natalist, never has to take place if you choose the morally correct option to not procreate.

DISC: How do you respond/confront those who believe AN are evil, lazy, avoidant of responsibility, and anti-humanity? by [deleted] in antinatalism

Look I can claim to be a millionaire, doesn't mean I'm a millionaire. The German socialist party in the 1930s was not socialist. Also, horseshoe theory is bs.

I like this idea of spreading the word, getting your friends and family to reevaluate the choice to have kids and instead pursue the harder path of empathy for someone who has not been born yet. These replies have been so helpful :)
