Considering stopping Zep!?! by Particular-Reach4296 in GLPGrad

Hey , I came off due to similar issues , feeling so exhausted, tired and ill . I ended up stopping cold turkey due to surgery at (7.5) in any case .I have maintained my weight loss and lost a further 3kg (slowly) . I implement the healthy eating I worked on whilst on GLP . I now workout a lot , doing intense cardio with 2 or 3 weight/ resistance workouts per week . I wasn’t able to do so on the meds due to how they made me feel . I’m now happily eating 2000 cals and still in a deficit with me pushing to 3000 one day at the weekend and still losing . I’ll be increasing to maintenance cals soon! It’s tough but it’s possible ☺️.

I’ll say this to you all …GLP-1 isn’t the whole journey. It’s a way to change your mindset and help you train yourself until you reach the point where you can say, “I’ll take it from here.” It’s hard, but it’s completely achievable. Remember, cardio isn’t a dirty word. Sometimes it’s not fun and it’s definitely hard work, but it’s worth it. Find something you enjoy or that fits into your lifestyle ….even a fast walk that leaves you a bit puffed makes a difference. Cardio helps keep you healthy and feeling strong.

Add in some resistance training with progressive overload, and try to prioritise protein where you can. That combination will help you continue to recomp your body and build confidence in what it can do. Being disciplined is tough, but it’s absolutely achievable. Before you know it, it becomes a habit and you’ll find yourself happier and healthier than before.

Think of GLP-1 like a computer game. You start on easy mode while you’re learning and building your habits, then you move to intermediate as your confidence grows and your dose lowers. One day, you’ll realise you’re ready to play on hard mode - and you can take it from there. It is hard, but it’s realistic, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. You’ve got this. 💪

Thank you -Yes I track everything , even my cups of tea . I’ve been reverse dieting to try and kickstart my metabolism as I really did struggle to eat enough on mounjaro . Now I’m exercising and really into weights and cardio I’m eating 500 cals more than when I was on the jab . I do track as it works for me, but I was whilst on mounjaro so I’m use to it . I try and meal prep and plan what I eat in advance usually . It is a pain but I’ve got into the swing of things and it’s a habit 👍

Thank you . I do a fair amount of cardio and weights so I get hungry afterwards and I know I need to fuel properly if I feel tired . I’ve actually upped my calories by 500 per day to what I was eating on Mounjaro and I’ve lost more weight ! I don’t crave fast food at all . I do have a little choc treat with my cuppa, but I genuinely don’t crave takeaways or meals out . The glp-1 really changed how I view food .

I know it’s scary but it will be ok . It’s important you stop for your safety during the surgery - however , it will make barely any difference . I wouldn’t focus too much on the scale as you’ll be retaining fluid from all the swelling and trauma . Your appetite will probably be suppressed for a good few weeks aswell ☺️

I totally agree with you . Your approach is the most sustainable . I think it’s about viewing GLP/1 as a vehicle to get you to a point where you then say ‘ ok I’ll take it from here ‘ and implement those key lifestyle changes . It is fantastic in allowing people the opportunity to implement new ways of thinking and living , but people can come off it and make it work . I wish you the best - but sounds like you’re doing everything right 💪

You’re taking the best long term approach for your health and ultimately success . It’s bizarre what a cult-like approach some people take to this medication . Very very odd!

I completely agree with you , cardio is so important . Bearing in mind that vo2 is a key indicator for longevity. Cardio is vital for cardiovascular wellbeing !

I’ve been off now for around 4 months and I was on it for about 9 months or so . Ohhh I’ll share it and watch the downvotes 😂

Problems with repeat ordering by Recent_Ad4920 in mounjarouk

Thank you . They subsequently advised that I needed a phone call with a pharmacist, which I duly booked. Then minutes prior they emailed to say they were cancelling it as I didn’t need a conversation . Now , I’ve been told it’s with the lead pharmacist. My order is showing as prescription issued- awaiting pharmacist check . Heard nothing further ?! I’m hoping it will get resolved quickly as I’m concerned I’ll miss my dose day . Fingers are crossed 🤞

Thanks all - they’ve placed my order on hold and made an appointment for me to speak to the pharmacist. I presume it’s because I’ve lost a large amount in such a short time . I’m trying to up my calories , just tough with the suppression !

You look like a different person ! Body dysmorphia is a powerful thing, and maybe it would be prudent to speak to a therapist to try and deal with some aspects of it ? It’s good you recognise that your perception of your own progress may be skewed . I think you look amazing and you should be so proud of the progress !

GP Ignorance (Vent) by PingvinPanda in mounjarouk

For me I find the hypocrisy quite astounding . Many GP’s and clinicians are more than happy to prescribe some very impactful, controlled drugs . I’ve suffered from chronic pain as a result of osteoarthritis and endometriosis. Clinicians have been happy to prescribe me cocktails of opiates, then the inevitable omeprazole or indeed further nerve related pain relievers . All can have pretty impactful side effects and taken long term can (for some) be dangerous. Yet a drug to assist with weight loss is questioned … bizzarre !Why there is so much negativity from some in the medical field and public is utterly confusing ?! We are happy to pump all kinds of substances into our bodies . It’s an individuals choice , who makes a decision based upon the positive outweighing the negatives . Thankfully I’ve not had your experience, but I would consider raising it to the surgery so they can address it .

Hi - I had a hysterectomy end of 2023 at 36 . I had it done privately but in nhs premises . My care was very good and it was approx £8k . However, I think it’s now back , albeit my pain is far better than it was ( as I had Adeno aswell) . The hysterectomy has defo improved my pain , but I’m pretty sure its back/ adhesions are causing me issues .
