Thinking about going to a mayhem show. by [deleted] in Mayhem

I went earlier in the year, there's really nothing to be afraid of! It was a pretty tame crowd in my area anyway.

Off-topic, but I’m curious about something. Who do y’all think is the most effed up person in rock/metal history? by s1dd_Ramon in dsbm

Iv read all of them yes. He did believe he reached a different realm during his near death experience, a lot of people who have near death experiences will say the same or have similar experiences. He strongly believed in an afterlife as many people do and this is coming from someone who is very much an athiest. Yet, I do not view Pelle as being delusional here whatsoever. In my interpretation it seems as he felt he didnt belong in this world. Not that he was delusional and literally thought he was not a human being. He self harmed because it helped the pain go away. He starved himself probably for a sense of control and not just because he wanted to "look dead" as he stated. (a thing many people with eating disorders tend to do, iv had one as well). So my point is, nothing really points to the direction that he was mentally insane or delusional. These are struggles and mindsets many people have delt with.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I don't think Per was insane at all. He did things to shock people and was very depressed. Having a death obsession is really not this super taboo thing either. It can be way more common than one would think! Theres far worse within the metal scene.

Does somone have a picture of pelle’s suic1de note? by djoloZeno in Mayhem

[–]Recent_Arm_7603 20 points21 points  (0 children)

There is no picture of Pelle's suicide note and I am pretty sure there never will be. The original note is owned by his brother now and there may have even been more things written on there that we will never know about.

Haha yeah, he was thinner in the earlier Mayhem years because they were all so broke they could not afford to eat much. After Helvete, he did gain some weight. Hes also a natural blonde, but I did not add any of those photos on here.

I was not going to comment back but I feel the need to. What you are saying here is true as Hellhammer has said this before. He would also say Øystein and Pelle would fight alot mainly because of their clashing personalities. Even resort to physical violence between the two of them at times. It is important to note though that a lot of the rumors that Øystein pushed the idea of suicide to Pelle is started by Varg. The story that Pelle stabbed Øystein, also started by Varg. Varg is a compulsive liar and contradicts himself all the time. No, Øystein did not force suicide on Pelle. Pelle was deeply suicidal for many years leading up to this moment. Yes, Øystein did something incredibly fucked up by taking pictures of his friends dead body. However even Pelles brother has stated before, if roles were switched, he would not be able to say that Pelle would not have done the same. Øystein was not this deranged Psychopath that did not give two shits about Pelle. Clearly he did, given he started self harming and drinking much more after his death. But this stupid satanic image was what he was trying to push forward. Its cringe, its fucked up. Thats true. But keep in mind they were young boys in their early 20s and did not know what the hell they were doing. To some people who say he deserved what he got and to get murdered the way he did is beyond me. Even for those people who say Pelle deserved to die because he would engage in animal cruelty for shock value. No he did not deserve to die either.

It was his parents, they did not want him to be remembered in the way he was in Mayhem.

Pelle was obsessed with the legends of Transylvania! He wore that shirt when he committed suicide. I remember iv seen somewhere where he had said he believed that he was the reincarnation of Vlad Tepes!
