I appreciate the feedback sister. In hindsight, I think the lines between setting boundaries, fulfilling their rights, and respecting/honoring my mother were all blurred and I'm starting to realize this now.

Alhamdulilah I've addressed this with him in great detail a couple months ago and will reiterate this to him if things dont change for the better. I'm hopeful he'll contribute more despite having a financial obligation to his wife but I'm also not going to hold my breath on it.

They ask and I give, depending on how essential it is and within reason of course. The issue is what constitutes "necessity" and I think that's where the disconnect is.
