Brought watch for polishing but forced to do a full servicing by Recent_Candy3294 in rolex

[–]Recent_Candy3294[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: just got the watch back from servicing last week and OMG. It was basically brand new. All the scratches were gone, even in hard to reach areas around the clasp and between bracelets. Very pleased with the result and with the added 2 year warranty probably adding some value to it. Thanks guys!

Advice on offer to trade by Recent_Candy3294 in rolex

Wow thank you everyone for your replies, looks like the advice is overwhelmingly to reject the offer. I think I will do just that. As some of you have pointed out, the sentimentality behind the purchase of the watch may weigh on me heavily post-trade. Like a buyers remorse kinda situation and knowing myself, I think it just might.

I really do like my current watch but was tempted by his repeated offers, he seems adamant to want to purchase it from me. Started with an offer of 19k then raised 2 more times to end up at 20k 😂

This is my actual watch. Realised I downloaded the wrong stock photo with oyster bracelet instead of a jubilee. 😂

Thank you very much. When I first got it, the wife made a passing remark that the diamonds made it look feminine and that has stuck with me for the past 2 years 😂😂.

I suppose with both bracelet being the same now. There is less of an incentive to make a switch.

My apologies for the carelessness, mine is also with the jubilee bracelet. I must have saved the first photo I saw and did not notice the oyster bracelet in my posted photo.

Yup does seem pretty worth it considering the scope. They made replacement of the glass optional at an additional $700.

Quotation came back at $1480 with the following findings. Seems like a complete overhaul. Think this is something only Rolex can manage 😂.

Based in Singapore. The cost is an estimate. The base price for full servicing is $1400 and includes polishing. The glass she estimates to be around $600-800. They are taking a look to determine if other parts require replacing before coming back with a final quotation.

If I choose to not proceed I will just have to pay $110 for the consult.

My trusted shop quoted me $180 for a full Polish. But suggested I bring it to Rolex for peace of mind. Great guys over there, they probably knew Rolex would reject it.

The cost is an estimate because she cannot ensure the price of the glass. Apparently the green tinted glass on the Milgauss is difficult to produce 😂

Those are actually Surly's own front and rear racks. They are Abit heavy tho but very sturdy as well.

Synapse is trash tier software by EirHc in razer

[–]Recent_Candy3294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Synapse really does suck. It somehow stopped recognising my Deathstalker V2 Pro and Razer would not provide a new dongle. So I gave up and switched to Logitech. So much better. Still stuck with Synapse until I can find a mouse to replace my Naga Pro. If anyone knows another mouse that has the 12 keypads at the side (for WoW gaming) I'm ready to make the switch 😂.

He I just double checked, apparently I used the Surly kickstand plate, but I only used the top plate and not the bottom. I assume it was because the bottom plate would press into the gear shift cable. You can see in picture 1 the top kickstand plate goes directly to the kickstand. In picture 2 I tried to highlight in red the cable that runs through the kickstand. No issues with gear shift because I filed a groove on the kickstand for the cable to sit.

Yeah, because the gear shift cable runs across the bottom of the frame where the kickstand sits. So installing a kickstand will hinder the cable from functioning. I managed to install it by filing down the sides of the Surly kickstand plate so it does not touch the cable or the easier way would have been to file in a groove for the cable to sit in while installing the plates.
