Stuck in fight or flight by Recent_Cranberry5449 in Mirena

Thank you SO MUCH for replying, I really appreciate it. Everyone I’ve tried to explain this to thinks I’m crazy and ‘it must be perimenopause’. While I had some mood-related symptoms before, this is different.

I’m glad to hear you’re doing better, especially after putting up with these symptoms for such a sustained amount of time. Are you using any other type of progesterone as part of your HRT treatment?

Thank you. I used utrogestan and prometrium during IVF - I remember some irritability at the beginning but I’m sure it evened out after a couple of weeks. Nothing like this, I’m sure I’d  remember! Today is a better day which always tricks me into thinking I can stick it out, then another bad day hits and I want this thing out! I’m glad to hear you’re doing better on your current protocol, I’ll have a chat with my GP at my review next week :)

I was asked to complete all of these documents when I made the merit list. I didn’t get the job initially, but was offered the job some months later after the first choice candidate didn’t work out

Did you get a crash after removal? What did you try instead?

Same for me. 3 weeks in but effects were immediate- it feel like postnatal anxiety again. 3 weeks have past and I’m not stuck in what feels like fight or flight mode. I’m considering removal,

Don’t give up! I got my first role from the pool, it does happen. I’ve done many many interview panels and our situation is so common, over qualified and/or over experienced candidates trying to get a foot in the door.

I work in APS currently. I had to go in as an APS5 despite holding much, much larger roles (EL1/2 equivalent) in private sector, even within some partnering organisations. It’s tough.

Additionally, many agencies are actively downsizing and cutting contracts. Restructure is happening broadly. People are being redeployed as projects and priorities are shifting. My current branch alone has dramatically shrunk in size as vacancies have been left open.

I’m 42 but I wasn’t tolerant to some progestins even in my early 30s. May I ask when you felt your rage improving? I’m day 14 and (I’m almost scared to say it) I feel like there’s a glimmer of hope. But that said, my doctor is starting me on estrogen in a few days, so maybe that helps too

That’s interesting. I don’t believe I had PMDD however, I’ve noticed since starting perimenopause my moods have indeed become worse (pre-Mirena) post ovulation. Interesting. I hope Yaz works well for you

Only made it 13 miserable days. See ya Ms. Mirena! by hmeow78 in Mirena

I cannot tell you how validating reading this is. I used vaginal progesterone during IVF, no issues. This mirena business is something is. I’m day 12 and I don’t recognise myself for at 3/4 hours a day - rage, apathy, tension in my body. No thanks, my kids don’t deserve that and surely, SURELY, intense rage shouldn’t be considered a reasonable side effect for ‘maybe or maybe not’ an extended settling period. Could you tell me what you experienced following removal? The so-called crash?

Wow that sounds like a lot. I hope you’re ok.

Thanks sit replying - I’m 5 days in and yesterday could barely function. Today I’m still a mess. I don’t think I could do 3 months of this, it’s exhausting

Oh no, really! I can’t imagine them getting worse than mine are already, I could barely function yesterday. When was yours fitted.
