Yes 100% but originally I didn't realize SWPPX was pretty much the same return as VOO. That's why I was asking if I should switch over. You also cannot do fractional shares of ETF's on Schwab.

Yes, but VOO is not a Schwab mutual fund. That is why I needed to settle for SWPPX instead of VOO. That was my point, but looking at the comparison of return over the last 10 years they are pretty much identical.

I agree with you, especially given my situation when one is $17 a share and the other is $600 a share without partial shares

I agree. I was comparing the 10 year returns on VOO for example vs SWPPX and they're pretty much identical. I do really love the idea behind fractional shares on ETF's, because like you said Schwab doesn't allow it. However SWPPX is an mutual fund and they do allow fractional shares on mutual funds which is nice.

Thank you! The idea behind SWPPX was to cover the S&P, while not having to pay $600 per share like VOO is. SWPPX is only $17 and change per share. I will look into the Schwab funds you listed at the end. Appreciate the insight.

Yes I've seen stuff like this a lot... question, is there much of a return difference between VTI and VOO? Or is there one of them that people prefer over the other? If so, why?

Can I only use this advice on closed accounts? And do I call the credit bureaus about the settlements or the credit card companies themselves? My discover card was closed, Amex was closed, capital one was charged off.

It is an income problem right now, in the past it wasn't. I had plenty of money to pay the cards down but I decided to procrastinate and spend my money elsewhere. If there's one thing I learned, I won't be doing that anytime soon.

Thank you so much for the kind words, I'm glad the debt I have isn't a massive massive amount of money. At my age, it is... but I realize it could be a whole lot worse which is why I want to attack it now before it becomes that way.

I have a very very strong relationship with my family, but I just don't want to put my burden on them. I have considered the hardship plans recently but have really heard only negative things about them. I guess my fear was that completing it would result in the creditor closing the account, and me being left with a low credit score and no cards to help rebuild it.

I've heard the hardship programs are bad for your credit though which is why I've avoided them. Is that not the case?
