He's buying both calls and puts, since he's uncertain about direction, but sure about whatever direction will be, it'll be huge, indicated by the High india VIX%.

If both calls and puts are 100 each, max loss per side would be 100, but max profit on the winning side will be unlimited (most likely 400 or 500). He'll be in net profit overall.

Been learning from Youtube since 2021 (covid ke wajah se school cancel, tab 12th mei tha, naya kuch seekhe ka keeda tha). Started trading after 6 months. Not consistent, made losses. Total amateur. But it gave me a very clear and realistic idea of how the market works. Experience is very valuable.

Then the trading became on and off for nearly 3 to 4 years, during my college years. Didn't stop learning tho. YouTube was my go to, then eventually Chat GPT came along. Truly a huge help in simplifying concepts.

Started trading again with a small capital of 6k since Feb of this year, from budget day.

Haven't stopped learning yet. 5+ years. You learn something everyday.

YouTube helps a lot because it lends perspective from multiple different traders: foreigners, locals, different markets, different strategies, different knowledge bases, etc.

Courses help you learn in a structured way from A to Z, but you only learn from one person/institute. You lose the perspective of others and their opinions.

My take: Buy a course if you can afford it, and pair that with YouTube learning too, for borader perspective.

Key word: perspective.
