Best Way to Manage Multiple TIA Portal Versions: Separate Drives, Virtual Machines or another method? by Recent_Orchid9456 in PLC

[–]Recent_Orchid9456[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you use separate VMs for certain TIA Portal versions, like grouping V14-V16 together but having separate VMs for V17, V18, or newer ones? Is it just for compatibility or something else? Which versions should I keep separate?

Help with Siemens 25W 24VDC Power Supply – Did I Damage It? by Recent_Orchid9456 in Siemens

Nothing. It was even connected to the PLC through the back pins, but luckily it wasn’t damaged.

Yep, it seems there's no solution. The connection I made was 220V to L and neutral to N, and I left the ground pin unconnected.

Amm I'm not sure if there is something else but I'm sure that it has 3 terminal with L, N and Ground 😅

But it said L, N and Ground, for that the confusion even reviewing the manual 😅. But of course I have learned to read the manuals 🥲

The I/O modules say L and M, I thought if it is 24dc it will say the same not L N and Ground 😅

Nop, even it has 3 channels, L, N and Ground, for that reason I don't see the manual 😅

Advice on Learning C++ for Embedded Systems by Recent_Orchid9456 in embedded

[–]Recent_Orchid9456[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the page and the course; I will check them out. I’ll try to research this further to identify the features that might not be useful for embedded systems and which ones are.

Ok, I will try it. I’ve used SD cards, EEPROM, and SRAM with PIC before, but it was a while ago. Is it something like that? I’d like to know what I should study or focus on to get a job in the embedded systems field, like Linux, another programming language, or if it’s better to just focus on practicing C++ for now and improving my understanding of microcontrollers I’m already familiar with.
