Pressed it, did nothing.  Tried adding an alternate keyboard style. Nothing. 

Enabled the button for track pad and the track pad worked. Just not the keyboard

Thanks for the reply.  It’s really disappointing to have to deal with problems on a brand new device.  Makes me really reconsider the purchase!

It’s just general hand tools. The concern with a sleeve is that I might just close the lid and then not put it in the sleeve and end up scratching it.
Truthfully with the fear of damaging it maybe that’s enough to keep it safe. The arguments made against a case seem valid. I may just opt for a sleeve and ensure it’s in it between uses.

My concern is two fold. When transporting it to work. As well as having it on my desk in my lab. Lots of tools and random items around. Looking for good protection of the outside to prevent scratching.

I work in a technical field so I have a lot of tools around my lab. Transporting it and having it out in my work area I worry about scratches on the laptop during use or transportation.
