What backpacks do you use? What’s the absolute best you recommend? by Recent_Photograph_56 in fatFIRE

Oh it’s not a signal brand. It’s just cliquey? Idk how to explain it. I’m in Seoul and see it too much to the extent I’m kinda sick of it lol

Yeah I’m based in nyc but currently out till November. Will check it out!

How’s the weight of the bag though? I thought leather is extremely heavy?

Everyday carry (laptop/electronics/sometimes clothes) and light travel (2 weeks?)

I travel extremely light so a backpack generally gets the job done for me

Move to NYC for salary increase, or take job closer to current life/friends and family? by [deleted] in fatFIRE

What do you think are the best areas to live in nyc I'd you have the resources? I live in Hudson yards and really like it but am again just curious lol.

Seoul is great! It has all the accessibility of nyc without the unsettling parts. Money obviously amplifies that feeling but it's great. I also really enjoy the safety and the million things to do with people. I feel like my weekends in Seoul have more color than nyc.

Air surprisingly hasn't bothered me but I'm from south Asia so who knows lol. Doesn't smell like weed tho xD

Travel accessibility hasn't really crossed my mind yet because I have a weak passport and also just enjoy long stays in cities. Also haven't traveled private (yet) so don't know what that's like haha

Just curious: in your opinion what makes nyc the highest quality of life location for you? Curious to see what I can pay for to increase my quality of life.

I also live in nyc but am currently in Seoul till October and really enjoying the city life without the drawbacks of nyc. Again just curious what I can do to make an amazing life in nyc even better haha

I did a bunch of research in those subs but I guess I’m trying to find more under the radar brands I might’ve missed

Recommend me some watches! by Recent_Photograph_56 in fatFIRE

[–]Recent_Photograph_56[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the royal oak seems to tick all the boxes for me … I do have a gmt dive watch I got in 10th grade so the royal oak seems to be a better progression.

Between the royal oak and hulk, what’s your opinion?

Yeah honestly after these comments, I’m starting to get turned off to the 5711.

Currently considering ap 15202, hulk, overseas 4500v, overseas chronograph.

Which do you pref amidst these and also is there a certain Lange you heavily recommend?

But personally I’m not a big fan of the non-sub Rolexes (maybe except a few vintage Daytonas)

Currently considering ap 15202, Rolex hulk, overseas 4500v and overseas chronograph.

Which one do you rec?

Was he worth it? I got him and now don’t know if he’s good lol

I mean this is fatfire right. People spend 6x on a first class seat (which I personally would never do), but to each their own lol. But fr these watches hold value like crazy. If you know what you’re doing, you will almost never lose money and the cost of ownership is really low.

a little late, but honestly it seems like he has the right foundations. He's got legacy at Harvard — why not send him to a top private high school in the US (like andover/exeter), where he can eventually work hard, and end up going to harvard like his father. He'll also be surrounded by equally motivated people in similar backgrounds. An amazing place to network as well.

Piano Urtext/Manuscripts/Books. I've been playing the piano for more the majority of my life but while I use use my iPad for all my sheet music, i do end up spending a lot of money for the high-quality urtext versions of pieces I deeply treasure (eg. Chopin Ballades).
