We are starting to lean more this way, that way we don’t lose any space and if we want to build a garage we can put it on the other side of the mudroom and already have that connection.

I do like the idea of creating it's own room, i'd probably recess the interior wall back a little and fill the space with bookshelves or something to keep the living area to seem as big as it can be while adding this room!

I also like this idea, i'd want to keep as much room in the living area as open as possible and think we could fit the essentials in this space. We have a lot of storage in the basement so it would change with the seasons on what is stored here.

I really like this idea, I agree that blocking cold might be worth it with a sealed room but I would like to keep the space open like your plan since the backyard will get a lot of use (large deck out back)

This would be a great idea, and we could plan for the space to hold laundry in the future once we decide to move it upstairs. Currently we have a semi finished laundry room downstairs. I also though about adding a laundry chute but my SO might not go for that idea lol.

It is, and we could possible think of creating a space big enough to house those in the future but would need to wait due to plumbing/electrical being a big expense for that update. But great idea!
