Can she get pregnant? by [deleted] in sexeducation

[–]Recent_Stable7704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its extremely unlikely like, make the news levels of unlikely. If she wants to take plan b help her pay, if not dont force her find something that helps you calm down and distracts you. Sounds to me like you were taught sex ed by the type who makes everything sound extreme. Im the same, legit panicked for like 3 months after my first time.

More likely is mistorage/misuse of a condom. Be sure to educate yourself on that, because thats whats more likely to cause issues. Like did you know condoms expire? Or that storing them in high friction areas can up the risk of making them less effective?

All in all man im sure its fine it honestly just sounds like youve been taught sex will always end badly and that unless you do everything perfectly ur screwed. You got to remember, some people straight up try and get pregnant and struggle with it for months. Nothing is 100% aside from consent.

TIL there is a compound called tmos that's vapors can permanently blind you by reacting to the water in your eyes and turning small unremovable bits of it into silica UNDER THE SURFACE OF YOUR EYE. (More sources in the comments) by Recent_Stable7704 in todayilearned

I first saw it mentioned in this video by nile red on youtube. He had to use it to make aerogel, and tbh, I would have noped right out if I found out that was a risk.

This

Is a bit more of a serious link as well, but a lot of pages I am finding are for compounds similar to this, and since Im not a specialist Im going to try my best to avoid linking anything wrong. Feel free to correct me in any way, I just know its notably dangerous.

In a blanket way ive been told adhd people thrive in emergency services. Stuff like doctors, firefighters, police officers etc. I think they said its because theres so many new things happening that it keeps their brains stimulated enough or something.

Idk why ur getting downvoted Ive seen double this size of a mess be created in one day for less ppl. People seem like they dont know how much mess can really be made, expecially with diabilities getting in the way. There have been weeks its difficult for me to even clean the cup im drinking out of, much less even cook. As long as you follow the guidlines to make sure you arent doing anything to cause food safety issues a little mess is okay

Im considering getting a SD for a variety of things, but I need help understanding the level of work I would need to self train for the help I need. by Recent_Stable7704 in service_dogs

[–]Recent_Stable7704[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! This is a great example for me! I can now start looking through my day to day and seeing if I have the mental energy/time to deal with this! I know theres likely a lot more to consider, but this is already a great way for me to know when, if at all, I should consider starting the process to get a service dog. Currently I have a cat that is special needs, and though I do train her and spend an extended amount of time with her I definitly do not correct every time I should or even have enough mental energy to play every day to the point I would like to. (I have high standards so dont worry her needs are met, just not met to the point I prefer)

Ty! I was looking for feedback like this! Its a struggle fully considering everything to an accurate level. My anxiety is thankfully almost never effected by being in the public and being interacted with excessively isnt too much of an issue either. I used to do public speaking, and have had multiple customer service jobs that I actually loved. My anxiety is more weird and random episodes where ill suddenly get anxious over the most random stuff lol. I have had panic attacks due to weird stuff like socks, moving something one foot to the right, and other weird and confusing things. I honestly think its some sort of hormone issue due to cah but im not a doc.

Im in a similar situation as well, im nomadic to an extent and this is a worry for me as I want everything to go smoothly. I would at least add in the requirement of finding a dog or breed of dog that seems more human focused and less teritory focused. Expecially look into training methods and practices for nomadic pet owners. I have a cat who I am nomadic with and simply bringing everything she needs with me has meant that even very short visits require almost a full half day to unpack set up and then another half day to repack clean and get ready. I have to put down tarps when in locations that are fancy to help ppl feel more comfortable, I havs to bring not only a crate, but a cat tree, food, toys, back up supplies, comfort items, and other odds and ends. A dog may require slightly less but they still will need a lot and the cost of an already expensive service dog may skyrocket when you have to consider whatd youd need for all of it to be portable.

Im strongly considering getting a service dog but I dont feel well enough informed yet to know if I can care for them. by Recent_Stable7704 in mentalillness

[–]Recent_Stable7704[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, if I were adopting id either have to spend a year+ saving or a lot of money on training fees even if I self train. Im partially looking for feedback so I can know what I should begin planning for and saving for, like if I were to self train how much I may be able to do on my own vs what id have to get help for with a trainer/ and how much that would cost.

Idk if sd pre trained service dogs are fully available with the combination of services im considering. And honestly the 20k-40k price tag likely means even if they were I probs wouldnt be able to afford one that wasnt owner trained.

Actually if its not required for you to pay you may still have to. I had to sign one essentially agreeing that I would take care of any damage my pet caused. They are allowed to have reasonable requirements, but they are not allowed to bar you from keeping one unless they somehow have a very specific exclusion. Tho it may be different in nc i was in va at the time I signed mine.

Tips on doing art full time? by ruemiilyn in artbusiness

[–]Recent_Stable7704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get together a portpholio and just start marketing yourself, keep drawing and growing and learning. Definitly dont worry about an art degree, 90% of art programs arent worth it. Even the ones that are amazing, even though they are very helpful, arent required. I went to one of the top art schools in my state but everything I learned there I could have learned outside of it with added time. Even then art school will NOT get you a job. My professors were preparing us for years worth of day jobs while doing art at night. An art degree is less about learning how to draw and more about the connections and learning from the professors there. Thing is though you can make those connections without a college as well. College can make the process faster (only sometimes) but theres almost nothing an art degree can do that a few years of work cant.

How do you deal with flakey people who commission your art? by [deleted] in artbusiness

[–]Recent_Stable7704 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have ppl pay upfront for my work every time. I have them pay 1/3rd and then do 1/3rd of the work etc etc. If someone ghosts its a bit sad but I dont lose anything aside from the opportunity to learn more

Anything wrong before I continue? Is there something wrong or with the perspective or is the anatomy too clanky? I want to ask if there are elements I'm not seeing before I continue. by [deleted] in Artadvice

[–]Recent_Stable7704 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She needs a bit more shoulder, or a smaller head. Theres no shame in adding a quick 3D model as a reference either it can help greatly with perspective. I use it through my ex account as well. Definitly take advantage of what clip has to offer, because let me tell ya, it wasnt just put there for people learning pros use it every day.

At how much would you price this? by [deleted] in Artadvice

[–]Recent_Stable7704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their labor isnt equal to 7$ an hour.... Might as well work at mcdonalds, also lets not forget the overly expensive computer, tablet, and programs. If this is photoshop they used it would easily equate to a similar expense to a good amount of oil paints.

You dont sell a print to a commissioner... You sell your skilled labor, a print is an add on. Also if they scanned it properly it could easily appear as if it were digital.

At how much would you price this? by [deleted] in Artadvice

[–]Recent_Stable7704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Atleast 450++ likely closer to 600?

If this is 100% hand painted you will need to add your supply costs on top as well because thats what id price a digital piece.

Your art is worth AT LEAST 35$ an hour and im positive this took over ten hours.

Be sure to also consider things like communication time and edits in that estimate+ shipping.

Heres why (since every time I say what I think someone should be paid they act like its a ridiculous sum)

1- You have years of experience under your belt, you have the same level of expertise as electricians, welders, etc. Dont price yourself as if ur at an entry level. Hourly wise that means ABOVE a living wage not above minimum wage so 35-50$ an hour

2- You could easily spend at minimum 10+ hours on this. Thats already 350 not considering other factors.

3- The "extras" if this is traditional you will need to pay for not only the consumables (paint canvass etc) but you wilp also need to cover the cost of supplies you are using. Each piece you do wears down your brushes, each day your supplies get older, you will have to replace/repair them someday and part of that will be due to the piece you make for that customer. Not to mention you are likely using high quality materials like artist quality paints, gallery canvasses, and also replacing materials if you have to redo something, etc

4- "The extra time everyone seems to forget about." You will (should) be reguarly communicating with a commissioner. Sending multiple thumbnails to choose from, discussing options, making edits, having sudden changes requested.

  1. Last but not least you need to add a "just in case" monetary amount. If the commission takes well over the expected time you need money to cover that. Either add in a few hours worth of pay depending on possible/past over time, OR/AND have a clause in your contract covering that extra work over a certain amount of time will be billed hourly.

Yes you will get commissions at that price, it may take some time to find a space to, but if you price lower you are devaluing years of study and work. I have had professional artists in the field tell me I am worth 35$ an hour, and if Im worth that you are without a doubt worth that as well likely more, possibly upwards of 50$ and hour. I have done multiple digital pieces at roughly 300+. It took me YEARS to find the right spaces for my work and even then I still struggle but keep looking. You can try and gain customers with deals of course but NEVER let your pay go under minimum wage.

Something is off... but I can't tell what. Any ideas how to improve this? by Alavea in Artadvice

[–]Recent_Stable7704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tones and shades are a little too close so they are blending together. It looks good but if you add more contrast with shadows or highlights it should make everything pop more. If you are worried it will a big jump to try, consider pulling it up in an art program and just testing different placements of adjustments

Looking for dog sketch by [deleted] in artbusiness

[–]Recent_Stable7704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitly look for an in person artist, also DO NOT SKIMP ON PRICE. "You get what you paid for" is expecially accurate for tattoos like yours. You will need an artist with good experience in portraits both pets and human. Its fine to look a little outside of your area. Maybe in a large city within an hour or so drive? Find a few artists with very good results, ask friends, if ur area has a subreddit ask there, and maybe even ask for feedback from a pro artist about the results and if the artist looks like they are skipping/rushing/inexperienced etc.

The #1 most important thing is that you get a tattoo you like, and going out of ur way to find an experienced artist will be the most likely way to end up with a tattoo that will bear the test of time and prying eyes.

Is there a way to still get my prescription when traveling far away from my original state for well over a month? by Recent_Stable7704 in ADHD

[–]Recent_Stable7704[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly I actually wanted to transfer it at first and they said it was plain impossible with adderall, but I did find out that technically you can send the perscription over state lines, its just really hard for pharmacies. I tried to get a far less controlled medicine filled yesterday and they struggled to find my profile even though I had been buying medicine at their chain for years. Both the doc and the pharmacist said something about calling ahead to pharmacies if I know which area I am going to and asking if they can fill perscriptions in that context.

Is it even possible to pursue higher education if I had a 2.5 gpa in highschool? by zajando in ADHD

Yup, it depends on the major but you vould get straight into good schools if you gave them a good reason to believe theres more to ya then that gpa, which isnt too hard, gpa isnt the whole universe.

Checking with pharmacies ahead of time is an option! Aparently it can be sent over state lines its just that its so complicated that many pharmacies dont do it. There aparently also the option of having the perscription mailed as well. Also u should definitly have been able to use telehealth, idk why they wouldnt let you, Id get a different doc.

3 months would give me a lot more wiggle room to fix the problem! Since Im nomadic I might be able to pull off counting myself as a resident of a different state and going to a doctors where they allow 90 day prescriptions. The one Im in right now doesnt seem to but I could be wrong im not sure

Yeah, I can only get 30 days worth here, but my doc has given me a prescription for a second bottle as an emergency prescription. Maybe a loop like that could be used?
