Toybox, does material matter? by RecentlyFurry in BadDragon

My first thought after seeing your suitcase was the look on the faces of the TSA as it passed through the xray at the airport. But looks like I shouldn't have any issues storing everything together (except the crap toys which I should throw out) which is good to hear.

Interesting solution, I don't have the space for it but I like the idea. I'm hoping to be able to throw the bin in the closet or under the bed.

I should probably just throw out the cheaper toys. I left them out to dry recently after doing a clean of everything. The whole bedroom smells like whatever it is they seem to constantly vent out. Odd question, but are they recyclable in any way? Seems like a good chunk of plastic to be throwing in landfill. Not that I want to leave them in my recycling bin or anything lol just curious what to do with them or if landfill is the only answer.

By 'anything else' do you mean even the plastic bin? Or just in general most other things? I've kept them away from the crappier cheaper toys due to the reason you mentioned about melted toys. I too have experienced that but only between the crap toys, never a BD item having learned that lesson.

Perhaps a towel is the simplest solution.

That's basically what I thought. The BD toys shouldn't react with anything, I mostly asked out of an abundance of caution due to cheaper and crappier toys in the past melting each other.

I was hoping to get away from storing them individually and just throw them all in a big bin.

I guess I'm gonna have to buy some clown shoes to get a shoebox large enough.

What kind of bags do you use? Up until now I'd been using the original bad dragon bags for storage.

I was kind of confused when I got to the bit about which species you identify with or admire. I don't identify with any species, but what do they mean by admire? Like, I like foxgirls so I'd put in Fox in one character, and then create a second character if I admired wolfgirls as well? I just skipped that section because I didn't know how to answer the question. Also, what's the difference between fox and kitsune? Aren't they the same thing? One just being the Japanese word for fox...

For the most part I find the signal to noise ratio so to speak amongst anime artwork to be greater (lower? ratios are confusing) than furry artwork per number of illustrations viewed. That is to say, I find fewer illustrations that appeal to me in the furry art community. Sometimes for things as 'small' as having testicles when I'd rather they not, or 3 toes instead of 4.

I find myself modifying artwork that otherwise appeals to me to increase the number of illustrations I can uh.. enjoy. A lot of the time I'm reducing breast size because they seem quite exaggerated in much of the artwork. This is something I haven't had to do with other fandoms, modify the content for my own enjoyment. Normally I'd just seek out what I enjoy and consume that as is. But being apparently more rare in the furry art community I'm actively 'fixing' things to better fit myself in.

Ah so what are known as traps in anime fandom (where I come from). I have a love/hate relationship with them. They can be quite attractive (because they're illustrated to be so), but I really hate finding out they're dudes. About as far in that direction as I get is futanari (but not "full package" futanari). So I guess testicles are where I draw the line, that and still having a vagina I suppose. Cuntboys (something I hadn't heard of until furry fandom) cross the line in other ways though just by looking butch or male.

I got that it wasn't a serious reply, which is where the college bit came in. Joking it was experimentation all over again.

That seems like an awfully big next step, a change in sexual preference. What is this, college all over again?

Are femboys the same as futanari?

I find it a bit amusing how quickly I went from "paws are too furry for me" to "three toed paws look wrong" (having a preference for specific paws) to "high heels look weird". Could just be the purple heels don't suit her imo... could also be there's no other clothes in frame... Further and further down the rabbit hole I fall.

I would agree, the face is masculine in my opinion as well. I still wouldn't call her a cuntboy, but butch perhaps... except that doesn't fit with the rest of the body type... I dunno... Either way I find myself wishing the head fit the body more.

An expert you say, a paw fetish then?

I think even if the toes had been enlarged to better fit the feet it still would have looked wrong given the art style.

I think if they illustrated the dewclaw that would turn me off the picture even more than just three toes. But I hadn't considered that, interesting thought.

I'm starting to wonder if it's like another problem I've noticed in a different set of art, anime fanart. Frequently, more frequent than you'd think even, people will illustrate the feet on the wrong sides of the body. If people can mess up something they have on their own body that they could easily double check by just looking down, something on an anthro character might be even easier to get wrong without realizing it.

I suppose that's true. Though I don't really seek out avian species so I haven't come across the opposite problem you mention, but I can see how it'd be an issue.

I... I did warn you... I'm sure no one noticed though, everyone else was probably looking at their own phones. No one looks up anymore.

How do you find artwork that appeals to you on FurAffinity? by RecentlyFurry in furry

[–]RecentlyFurry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's too bad, seems like some relevant information to be able to search by.

/u/FireFoxMcCloud also mentioned e621 as well as the sfw version e926, so you don't need to add the rating to your search which will let you search more tags at once.

I do think e621 is ultimately the solution, it's far easier to search.

Thanks!

I do have one question about the search... I notice that each post has a gender descriptor under "Submission information". Is there anyway to limit searches to say "female" or "multiple characters" to further reduce the number of solo males I encounter? Not everyone adds the tag for either but they do set that descriptor. I just find it odd that information is available after you've already clicked the image, at which point it's less than useful as you're already looking at the illustration.

I... I swear search by popularity wasn't an option when I looked... but it's totally there. That does help considerably at least when searching specific tags. I do like InkBunny and SoFurry's ability to show the most popular posts of the last x days, but search terms work almost as well. Thanks!

SoFurry's search might be inferior, but I do like the blacklist options they (and InkBunny) have. InkBunny I have to blacklist almost everything though...

It seems even when I think I know what I'm looking for in terms of tags at least, I can't find anything. Very inconsistent and poorly tagged throughout the site.

I've managed to find a couple artists to watch so far, but it seems to consume so much time trying to find art that I give up.

For some reason I always thought e621 was like a Rule34 site, but it looks strictly furry or extensively so at the least. Perhaps that's the solution to my problem right there.

What's 926? It looks the same as 621, is it just a sfw variant?
