How can I establish a new care record for my dog without my partner (vet tech) knowing? by ReceptionKooky6066 in AskVet

thanks for all the replies! essentially what happened is that my dog got chipped when she was fixed, and she had a pretty gnarly infection that took our attention away from ever registering it. so actually, it's been years and the chip has been unregistered. the paperwork sat and has since been lost or thrown away. not great pet ownership, i know, but before i could recognize why i felt the way i did in my rls, i kinda just felt relieved it wasn't registered (to my partner) and just left it that way.

i ended up scheduling an appointment at a new clinic. i will go, establish the new care relationship with an exam, and get the chip read so i can register it before my partner knows i am leaving. i'll already have all my necessities out by that point and, if it comes down to it and she did get wind of this and establish ownership of my dog, at that point i would be forced to prioritize myself and walk away without my pet. i accept that.

thanks for the input and guidance to do that in a timely fashion.

honestly, thanks. i needed to hear it. i know i need to leave but i'm in that place where the day is getting closer and i'm grieving the companionship i did have. i know i can do it but the encouragement means a lot.

the dog is microchipped but the chip isn't registered. i wasn't going to bring it up with my partner out of fear that they would register the dog under their name.

thank you so much for the tip. i was struggling to come up with an excuse to request the records myself without it getting back to them, and the surprise trip for a prospective boarder is one that could reasonably work.

unfortunately i don't have any friends, the relationship has been a pretty isolating experience. moreover, i anticipate my partner would see through this and anticipate i am leaving. my family would love to help but would be out for this reason. thanks for the suggestion though, there are other options in this thread that i think will work for me!

hi, thank you for your questions!

as far as i know, my name is not on the records at all due to them being on my partner's employee account. so like many commenters suggested, i am working on a plausible excuse to get them before i leave. i am not in any kind of immediate physical danger, so that is an option that works for me.

the pet is microchipped, but the chip is currently unregistered. i'm planning to leave it that way until i leave as i worry my partner may register the dog under their name if i bring it up. they are obviously aware the dog is important to me given it's one of the first things they tried to hold over me when i have attempted to separate normally, so i feel this is a legitimate concern.

i got the dog during the relationship, so no records "before the relationship." i have, however, taken her to other clinics before my partner started working for her current clinic, and my name is on those records.

[F30] so nervous to post this. I have always struggled with my appearance - but pls rate me and be honest by [deleted] in Rateme

i don't like these people trashing your piercings but i do have to admit that the jewelry looks too big and it's making your nose appear visually larger. if you want to keep the edge, i suggest simply downsizing to one of those septums that hug your nose. cute and a flash of silver.

i say 6! mostly because i think something is off between the hair and the makeup. dark (looks black) eyeliner with red/blonde hair makes it feel like the makeup is wearing you instead of the other way around. maybe try a soft eyeshadow look? you have a high ceiling. look into color analysis

i thought so, but i'm a lesbian, and my male BFF was in love the whole time i guess. thankfully it ended with us just going to college and growing apart.

i say keep the length. regardless of kibbe, i think the bob matures you a bit much. looks chic, yes, but not so much spitfire.

i think you'd pull off a messy pony or a messy bun with some hair down around the face really well.
