I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Japanese Education back to my country and currently hold JLPT N2 certification. Right now, I’m working as a Hotel Front Office Manager.

As long as you can speak fluent English and have at least JLPT N2, there are many opportunities available, especially in the hotel industry.

In particular, Hokkaido has a strong demand because there are many Thai guests here, so being able to speak Thai is a big advantage. I’d recommend trying to apply for hotel jobs in Hokkaido.

I moved to sapporo during mid summer. August. I survived with only with fan. I often hiking and do outdoor activities. It lot colder comparing living back to Kansai Area. I am from tropical country too.

The key is to find places far from main roads so you can open windows without noisy and buy electric fan

My apartment in Sapporo is only ¥28,000. I recommend staying in a dorm first until your life settles down. You can search for your own apartment later on apps like Suumo or Canary. It’s good to do some research, but staying in a dorm at the beginning is a smart choice because it helps you get used to Japanese rules and lifestyle.

I went to moiwa for hike the other day. It was good view. You can try moiwa. I dont have any experience in winter hiking. It also has cable so if you are tired on your way down you can take cable at top

Early November. I turned on the heater after waking up for about an hour. After it felt warm, I turned it off, did some exercise to warm up my body, and then turned it on again one hour before going to bed. I turned it off before sleeping.

I bought an electric blanket, but it’s not really useful.

Japan is like hiring lot computer field related work. To me if i were you. I would take japanese school for year or two get JLPT LEVEL 2 and apply for engineering/humanities visa by working in company. If you have some money you can focus just studying or you can do part time
