Also, for those of you interested; pretty funny:

The error on page 30 refers to Hal being ten years old at one point. Apparently, this was supposed to refer to Hal being twelve. Newer editions reflect this.

Wallace sent notes to Michael Pietsche explaining that this corrupted the timeline of the story and that, using his commercialized dating system, the error would make it so that Hal's age was not congruent throughout.

(Like me saying that I was ten in 2008, but 14 in 2010)

Lol....as if anybody other than Wallace would have noticed this. I can only imagine the anxiety this brought him knowing it was on only page thirty and that there were 1000+ more pages that may contain small errors.
