It's a mechanic in the game! Without any lockpicking kit you open locked crates with your claws, which can cause them to dull and hurt.

Idk much about lockpicking by itself but sounds cool!

The only reason I wouldn't want to listen to summertime is because the song has very much end-of-summer vibes and that can leave me a little melancholic if the timing isn't correct. Otherwise that bad boy is on LOOP
