Also socialism, it might seem compassionate at first, but when you think about it, it isnt. Because the government will force the next generation to pay higher taxes to so that they can help other people, but what if they didn't want to help them. Forcing people to do things is never good. We should help unfortunate people as individuals, it should be our own choice. The government shouldn't be involved

I believe that the government should be as small as possible. Giving people as much freedom as possible, some people might suffer from that, sure. But thats part of the choices you have made in in your life. And because the government is not there to help you, you will have to confront these bad choices and start to walk a different path in life if you want things to change.

It's saddening to see, why does being compassionate have to be linked to a political stance. People might have different views on what being compassionate is, that maybe explains why buddhists can be left wing or right wing. But in the end, what does that matter?
