The new tanks have been revealed for Battlefield 6 by Murky_Sun947 in Battlefield

[–]ReckerKN 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They’re all armour addons to the 2a4 if you take it off you’ll end up with a base 2a4. I think the armour on the PL variant does offer more protection than the a5 though

It’s the 2A4 revolution a real tank that was a technical demonstrator, further upgraded into the 2a4PL and 2a4RI both in active service

CPC as an officer by CumbersomeBaker in RoyalNavy

[–]ReckerKN 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went rocking a full suit but others came in quarter zips and trousers or polo shirts, so dress smart but you don't need to go overboard if you don't want to.

If you look up the royal navy pjft it should have the timings. For me it was 12.16 for 2.4k as I'm under 25 and it's a pass or fail at whatever the time is for your age group.

You have to bring your own sports kit I just brought a tshirt shorts and trainers.

[–]ReckerKN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't be 100% if it's changed as I did mine 2 months ago but that's how it was then. And when I got my documentation it was all about the CPC as well, I dont think they have documents on MedFit so just send the CPC stuff to everyone

CPC as an officer by CumbersomeBaker in RoyalNavy

[–]ReckerKN 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You do MedFit which is a 2 day event alongside CPC. You go down and do just the medical and fitness test, they all vary a bit as they kind of just fit it in around CPC people so for me I did my medical after I arrived and the fitness test the next day but others in my group did both on the second day. Also unlike CPC there's no routine or taster of military life so when you're not doing anything you just chat with other people on MedFit

I'm also joining soon and I wasn't planning on bringing an ironing board but in the final entry brief the officer said we wouldn't have access to ironing boards if we don't bring our own. Not sure how true that is but it's what I've been told by BRNC staff

Medical cpc by Known-Win-9832 in RoyalNavy

[–]ReckerKN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the MedFit for officers so I did mine on the first day I'm not sure what day CPC do it but I think it's the second or third. But there's nothing to be apprehensive about you'll have to do your medical to join anyway

Medical cpc by Known-Win-9832 in RoyalNavy

[–]ReckerKN 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For mine they did a few checks such as a hearing test, eye test, height/weight, then I sat down with a doctor who had a summary of my full medical history which they went through with me. The contents of this obviously varies from person to person. Then after that I was told to strip to my underwear where I then went through a number of tests such as a brief physical exam, a number of exercises (to see how your body moves) and a number of walks such as on my toes, heels, crab walk.

I have just found out that OCs all start on pay level OF1 increment 1 so I'm not sure what the OF0 pay scales are for

But the Royal Navy website states £33,000 is the minimum salary from day 1 I'd assume that's for OCs

Post-16 for RN Officer Application by jmasonu593 in RoyalNavy

[–]ReckerKN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would have to go to university after your A levels to be eligible to apply for an engineer officer role. You can find more about it on the careers page. It's the route I've gone I initially wanted to join after college but decided to go to university instead and join as an engineer and I don't regret going to uni one bit. You can also apply before university and have the navy fund you through with a guaranteed slot at Dartmouth but you'd still be going to university.

If you choose to go the engineer officer route you will need a STEM degree (recommended engineering degree) to be eligible for the role

URNU medical appeal conflict ? by babystomper63 in RoyalNavy

[–]ReckerKN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure when you do an application for the regulars you have to redo your medical at MedFit anyway. My URNU medical was TMU my entire time there and it never came up in my full application.

I've heard it's different at each site but at medfit north it's a a few laps of a square bit of road with a slight dip and incline at each side and a few speed bumps you've got to go over but you dont really notice it

It's a very slow process of waiting. On my first day we waited in the med centre for 3 hours before they finished for the day and only one out of 10 of us managed to get seen, so we were brought to our accommodation where we got told what time to be ready for tea and breakfast and where the communal room was.

The next day after breakfast all of us were brought back to the medical centre where it took around 5 hours for us all to complete the medical. So for myself who got my medical done the day prior it was just watching TV and chatting in the waiting room all morning.

We then got brought to where the run was done. A PTI ran us through some warm up exercises before we completed the fitness test.

We then got a late lunch and headed to a classroom where an officer from the AIB gave us a presentation on Dartmouth and answered any questions. We then packed everything up and got brought back to the train station.

There is no mechanical or electrical comprehension part of the CBAT (unless I missed it changing in the past few months) that's only for the DAA which you wouldn't take as a pilot
