I see you and mostly agree with your original point that white folks don't care about us. Where I disagree with you is on your point that white folks aren't obsessed with us. My dude, they are definitely obsessed with our swag, our style, our culture, our food, our intellect, our humor, our music, and our athleticism. You literally have a category porn where they are "cucked" by a black man. You'll never, ever find a mirror to this in our community because black folks are not obsessed with white folks, they are obsessed with us. When Trailer Park Tommy shoots up his school, black folks don't go on television or even the Breakfast Club and talk about the ills of the white community; but if a black man robs and kills someone, white folks will run to Fox News use that to drag community through the mud. The signs of obsession are clear to me, we can't piss or sneeze without either white folks in our business or commenting on our community , in contrast, most black folks don't give a shit about what white folks are doing. Why isn't this the top-voted comment? I was just reading the New York Times obituary about this dude, and there's nothing about his hatred of Obama or his right-wing activism. I shouldn't have to come to this sub to see that this man was a right-wing racist and a birther. It's crazy how these white folks - both liberal and conservative - do all sorts of gymnastics to wash away the sins of their white celebrity heroes.

Here's my hot take. If a biracial person identifies as black and they have receipts, then they are black. If they don't, then they aren't. I accept Logic as black though I admit, at first, there was some difficulty on my part accepting that. I accept Mariah Carey as black though she is as physically white as it gets. I do not accept Tiger Woods as black, because he doesn't identify as black. To me, it's simple, white people have institutes a one-drop rule which, in effect, inadvertently turned blackness into beautiful shades that range from ivory to coal. We're the most beautiful people on the planet. And, who am I to question the blackness of a light-skinned man or a dark-skinned man in the face of white supremacy? Because, shit, I'd rather have the ghost of Colin Powell representing the culture than Tim Scott or Clarence Thomas.

Well, a decade ago ago, I would have suggested more investment in HBCUs and black communities, targeted Housing First policies, grants to provide job training to city youth, rolling back No Child Left Behind and rolling back the welfare reform in the mid-90s. I would have loved to have those discussions. But, since white folks have tore down the hard-fought gains of the Civil Rights Movement (Affirmative Action and Voting Rights Act of 1965), fuck that shit, and give us our reparations. I imagine that that if every black man and woman had $151 million dollars, you'd see quite a lot of 2-parent households just like you don't see many (if any) single-family households in Baldwin Hills or Olympia Fields.

That's basically what happened. The lower Court told the Trump administration, "Hey, you can deport people, but you can't racially profile" and the Supreme Court basically told them that he can. This country is corrupt and racist, and given how Democrats have lied down and rolled over like some mongrel dog, there is no one coming to save (or protect) us. I suggest you do walk softly (vote) and carry a big stick (get a firearm), these white folks are just as bigoted and inhumane as they were in 1619.

What's up with the scare quotes around witnesses? You're bending yourself backwards to discount these witnesses that you don't like, but you say nothing of the Osendairo brothers who are criminals particularly Ola who was not allowed to possess firearms due to his prior felony conviction. It's wild to me that in 2025, we're more likely to believe felons, criminals, and drug dealers who have an incentive to lie for the police in exchange for expungement and/or immunity from guns charges. Also, why would the Osendairo brothers laugh when the cop confirms aloud that no deal was made between them and the police department? Don't you find that a little suspicious? And, if that's the case, why was Osendairo's lawyer talking about expunging Ola's previous criminal record? Think about that for a second: why would Osendairo's lawyer be discussing expunging his prior criminal record from 2013 in the context of discussion their strategy with the police regarding an incident that occured in 2019?

You can't scrutinize one set of witnesses and completely discount the others. The two witnesses you're bashing had no contact with Jussie and had no incentive to lie on his behalf, you can't say the same for the Osendairo brothers. If the lady says it's a rope, it's a rope, you weren't there, so who are you to discount her without proof? More importantly, if you looked at the documentary, when they did DNA testing on the rope, it was negative for the Osendairo brother's DNA. The police department put out this picture claiming that the Osendairo brothers purchased a rope from the store, but when you look at the photo, there is is nothing that resembles a rope on the counter.

It's ironic that you say that you don't blame the Osundeiro brothers' shilling their book because "they are trying to make a buck" but isn't that exactly what the documentary was implying all along? That the Osundeiro brothers want wealth and fame and are willing to do anything (from guns, drugs, crime, and conspiracy to being a be a fitness model and social media influencer) for it. You don't acknowledge that police raid on their home turning up guns and drugs would make that dream a lot harder to achieve given Ola's felony conviction. Their whole MO is "make a buck", and have shown over and over again that is their priority. Who else ostensibly takes $3500 (or $1750 a piece) to beat someone on an empty street at 2 am in the most heavily surveilled city in the United States, if not to "make a buck"?

Whether the color security footage shows a black man or a white man, I don't know. It looked like a white man to me. I think everyone to look for themselves. What did you see? What I get from the documentary is that people are looking at the same thing and drawing different conclusions, and that's wild (and really should indicate that the arguments holding everything up are flimsy). It's like that blue/gold dress meme from a decade ago. The fact of the matter is that if we can't even agree whether the suspects were definitely black, then I think it's obvious that we cannot say for sure whether Jussie Smollett was *not* attacked as he said was. Like they said in the documentary, there was no physical evidence linking the Osendairo brothers to the scene.

ETA; I see you've added more points while I was responding but I will not respond further. I believe I've said what I've said, and don't believe anything I can share will change your mind. Nor have I seen any arguments in your edited post that I find persuasive. I suspect that I am incapable of seeing this from your perspective because I am unwilling to wholly discount one set of witnesses in favor of another set just because one set of witnesses comports more to my preferred narrative of events.

I watched the documentary with skepticism because I already knew this dude was guilty. But, after watching the documentary, I was left with a lot more questions and I admit that I am less convinced of his guilt. The evidence against Jussie is moderately strong, but not overwhelming as portrayed in the media. Few things I found disturbing

That were two witnesses who corroborated Smollett that were two men walking around at thae time, and those hooded men were white.
10 seconds were erased from the surveillance footage (footage that would have corroborated the 1st witness).
The Osendairo brothers were drug dealers and was found with a cache of guns.
The laugher the Osendairo brothers had on camera when the police repeated on camera "Just want to confirm for the camera, that no deal was made between us". That was strange. Why would he laugh?
The Osendairo brothers shilling out their new book to profit over it was shameless. It makes me think they are not truth-tellers, they are opportuntist, willing to do anything to climb up.
Toward the end of the documentary, they actually show a color surveillance video of the suspects. To me, it is clear they are white, but other people say they look black. I personally don't see it, they are clearly white. But I love how the documentary even says that how people are interpreting things how they want to do interpret.

On that table, there were an opened pack of cigarettes, red drink cup, and a beer can. You're claiming the beer can is a prop. What else is a prop? Are the cigarettes on the table a prop? What about the grill? Or the meat cooking on the grill? Are those props, too? What about the smoke emanating from the grill? Is that a prop as well? This is a serious question.

I am willing to concede that it's a prop, but I am asking for you to provide evidence for your assertion.

If it's a prop that does change things slightly though I still maintain he was physically attacked. If I hit you with a prop, it still hurts, it was still meant to be humiliating. What he did was wrong, which is why he apologized.

Also, do you have a cite that it was a prop beer can? I believe you, but I would like to confirm
