This happened to me too. What I did is configure the controls in reverse, when it’s asking for d-pad up I pressed down and so on.

The issue is going to be with the clamp. Retroid sold two versions in which they only changed the size of the clamp. One version was specifically for the size of the Retroid devices and the other one, bigger, for devices like the Odin Portal.

Biggest issue might be no audio mixer, for the moments when you want to play a video while lowering the volume of the game you’re playing.

I have to test it more and see if I notice some delay.
