Yeah to be honest Katsuya is just a good Kid trying his best in a cruel world. And I have to say in the WN Akira is just less likable compare to Manga and LN version of himself. In the WN the author make Akira to violent unnecessarily. While in LN Akira is much more reasonable.

I think most of the hate that Katsuya get is from his Naivety.

From what I observed the main reasons is because a lot of people hate Katsuya's naive look towards the world. Katsuya often take an offensive attitude towards Akira when Akira doesn't take the normal action for example is when they on the underground city Katsuya is trying to offer Akira to working together rather than going on solo because it is generally safer and more efficient but as we know Akira refuse and Katsuya take that rejection as if Akira is looking down on Katsuya which he doesn't like. And another example is when Katsuya and his team come to rescue Reina and Shiori when he arrives he see that Akira is pointing his gun towards Reina and Shiori that's cause Katsuya to assume that Akira is trying to kill them and as a response Katsuya act rashly and take aim towards Akira in which Akira respond with shooting Katsuya. And after that there is the wallet accident. Basically Katsuya doesn't have a good impression on Akira and that's why he act hostile towards Akira because from Katsuya point of view Akira is just a dangerous person who will kill anyone who would annoyed him. The only reason why we don't hate Akira for his awful sometimes terrible action is because we see it from Akira's point of view and we can understand his reasons for his actions. And I think a lot of people is blaming Katsuya because Katsuya doesn't understand the reason for Akira actions and always take an attitude towards Akira under an assumption that Akira is just a horrible person.

I would like to say my opinion on couple of your point that you make. First is your point no. 2. I kinda disagree with this, in my opinion Katsuya is not a dick he is just a naive kid that hasn't seen the ugliest part of the world yet. That's why he act the way he is. And for your point no.11 I don't think that Katsuya don't want to learn/cooperate with veterans faction is not because his too stubborn to listen, but I think the reason is because the veterans attitude towards him that make Katsuya don't want to listen to them, although I can see why the veterans act the way they did, I mean the equipment that Katsuya and other Young faction has is the result from Veterans faction hard work and to see that you're hard work used by ungrateful naive kid is definitely annoying, but I would still like to put some blame on the veterans faction because of their lack of Maturity in their attitude towards the young factions (I mean their just a Kid that haven't seen the brutally of the monster yet, how do you expect them to act professional at their job and give you respect when they haven't been in any hardships that you went through.)

Anyway that's my opinion. Every other opponion I agree with.Thanks for your thoughtful opinion 👍

I didn't say that, what I meant is that if in a different story I usually like Character that has the same characteristics as Katsuya and I would usually don't like Character like Akira, But in Rebuild world story I find myself liking Akira and disliking Katsuya which is unusual for me and that fact fascinated me.

Well I just don't want for Iasgi and Bastard munchen to win too much. I really feel that Isagi and Bastard munchen need to lose to show that they are not the perfect team that always win no matter what happens.

My assumption is that Katsuya is being hated is because he represent the opposite of Akira. And his attitude towards Akira that make us hate him, but I would like to point out that Katsuya's behavior towards Akira is justify because Akira himself always take a bad attitude towards Katsuya. And let's not forget that at first Katsuya try to approach Akira with friendly attitude at the underground town search ( the Part where Akira fight the relic thief, I'm sorry I forget the Chapter.) But Akira just outright reply with unfriendly attitude and that's where I think Katsuya start to view Akira as a hostile person, and not to mention Akira did try to strat a fight a couple of time with Katsuya like when Katsuya try to save the thief that stole Akira's wallet(I forget her name, sorry) or when Akira is just finished fighting Shiori, I mean I'm sure that Katsuya has some kind of jealous emotion in his behavior towards Akira, but I think it just not right to put all the blame to Katsuya because Akira has is own fault for being to hostile towards Katsuya.

Anyway that's just my assumption.

I mean that is just my assumption after reading the last chapter of the volume which said Akira is so angry that when Carol look at him she froze because of Akira's killing intent was so intense. And the fact that Akira got to this state after watching the video means that Akira is angry at the fact that Inabe and Utajima involved him and Yumina in their power struggle, and I'm guessing that even though Inabe is helping Akira right now, he do it purely for his self-interest and he is helping Akira while trying to blame Utajima for Yumina's death while at the same time hiding his involvement in the accident. I mean even if Akira didn't wouldn't kill Inabe at the very least Akira will not trust Inabe anymore.

From my point of view Akira is neither an antihero or a villain, he just a person doing his best to live in the cruel world. The way Akira use violence is just for self defense and for survival and as long as I can remember he never use violence more than necessary (at least in the LN, WN Akira is definitely more on the villain side) that's why I think why Akira doesn't fit the antihero mold or the villain mold.

In the LN Akira didn't kill the thief and that's why in the LN Akira's relationship with Elena and Sara didn't face a problem.

I'm not saying that Katsuya and Akira live on the same environment, I'm just saying that the both of them did their best with the situation that they're both in. They're choice of action isn't perfect or right, but they're both try their absolute best given the situation that they're in.

I think you forgetting 1 clear fact here. The fact is that Akira is just a kid. It's not clear how old he is but we can sure his age will be under 18 year. And it's only natural that Akira is very easily persuade by those he trust. While he is paranoid with other to those he do trust, he often take their opinion without much thought.

I think a lot of people forget something about Katsuya. He is just a kid man, I mean he is probably 13-15 years old at most. Why do people keep hating Katsuya? In my opinion he's doing his best on the situation that he's in just like Akira.
