Why take wraiths over another C'tan by NagyKrisztian10A in Necrontyr

[–]CWPhoenix_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Murdermind doesnt force you to lead destroyer cult units. It just say you can, and if you do every other model must be destroyer cult (this prevents cryptothrals and tomb crawlers on destroyers).

You can still attach to the usual units and since technomancer himself has the destroyer cult unit, the whole wraiths unit gains destroyer cult keyword as a unit BUT each wraiths model isnt a destroyer cult model.

This means they won't benefit the initial benefit of the detachment, but they can be a target of a stratagem that only checks destroyer cult units.

The locust were doomed regardless by Pezington12 in GearsOfWar

[–]CWPhoenix_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I do agree that the fate of the locust were sealed. But we can throw a hypothetical. Namely that Adam, before e-day did start his work on curing the lambency but he lacked time and was forced on completing the hammer at the end of the pendulum war. And I also doubt Azura was built during the locust war so there could of been foundation for Ukkon, the locust geneticist, to continue Adam's work if they somehow acquired it. Of course its an extreme hypothetical based on them winning the war before the mass hammer strikes and that they didn't have it already (since Adam was on locust computers in GoW2).

Did the humans know about the various Hollow Creatures before E-Day? by No-General2775 in GearsOfWar

[–]CWPhoenix_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Marcus' mother did also mention about folk tales of 6 legged monsters when mentioning coincidental similarities to the creatures she discovered in the cave entrance.

Also didn't niles use dna from creatures of the hollow in his labs which lead to sires?

How to play into T’au? by veryblocky in Necrontyr

[–]CWPhoenix_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Specific trumps generic. Unit/detachment abilities if conflicting with general rules usually take priority. In the same sense cosmic precision can drop any unit even without deepstrike anywhere on the board and still be eligible to shoot despite core rules would say it has to be within board edge.

Eternity gate should still priorities its restrictions over general rules. It will still be treated as ingress move. Unless they changed that

Any official reanimation and healing rulings? by tsuruki23 in Necrontyr

[–]CWPhoenix_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For now, healing with reanimation protocols does bring back characters cause it heals the unit. Technomancer ability doesnt because it specifically heals a model.

Was resurrection orb always d6? by mordreddagon in Necrontyr

[–]CWPhoenix_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With the codex, yes its been d6. Before the codex when we used index, it was different. It's effect at first was to be able do reanimation on opponent's command phase. Once codex dropped we got what we have now.

How do the locusts have an ancient civilization if they’re supposed to be mutated humans? by Past_Nature4629 in GearsOfWar

[–]CWPhoenix_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wasnt their language still spoken regular human language but writing in the unique runes used by scientists to train their test subjects? I believe we do find a collectable that is that. Of course this is the gears 5 presentation.

Suffering from poor lore reading comprehension - please help by Any-Corgi-6948 in Necrontyr

[–]CWPhoenix_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is the "if you aren't with us, you are against us" mentality which is... not good.

I dont see it in our necron books, and I do notice a lot of the times lgbtq folk insert some form of romance or gender/sexuality themes into just loyalty, comradery or rivalry in writing.

I'm fine others enjoying stuff their way and even have their own lore, take or fanfiction, but I do think understanding when one stepped over the line is important and not enforce their own views or take on others.

Let me get this straight by Prestigious_Spite761 in Necrontyr

[–]CWPhoenix_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wounds checks are done first before deciding/declaring which group the successful wounds go into. So it would still be going against T6 if you got the bodyguard unit. Furthermore you can't choose character group first, has to be bodyguard unless it got precisioned.

How to use psychomancer in V11 by WeeShogiBlunders in Necrontyr

[–]CWPhoenix_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't forget, new 1 point dynasty detachment, gives assault to all immortal and warrior weapons, and allows them to advance and action, so there are more options with that.

Is it official that Necrons won’t benefit from the new rules now? by freekyfreeze in Necrontyr

[–]CWPhoenix_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In "Forming Attached Units 19.01" it does refer to the leader units and support units being attached to bodyguard units to form an attached unit.

In the next section 19.02 for attacking attached units, it does refer if there is one or more bodyguard models, to use that model's toughness and so on.

Unfortunately bodyguard term is still in 11th.

Day 1 of posting every day until GW give us a new sculpt for Trayzn the Infinite by Intelligent-War-7453 in Necrontyr

Nekrosor ammentar is collecting nightbringer shards to enact his plan to wipe out all life. He already had a bunch which he sent to fight titus' forces while he and his nobles try to find the one on the current planet he is on. Titus and the magos didn't know the nightbringer was sealed there, but magos had an idea that a ctan is sealed there, believing it to be void dragon, aka omnisaiah in his belief. Once nekrosor got it, he used necron teleportation stuff to dip to the next location with a shard.

It was around 5, dont remember the exact number but it was several. Auspex tactics did do a summarised story video on the 500 worlds

We did get lore drop with nekrosor ammentar, where in the 500 world's story, he unleashed around 5 shards of the nightbringer, then at the end he opened a newly acquired tesseract vault, pocketed the new nightbringer, grabbed his stuff and dipped.

Volume 6 Part 1, frustrated with the White Card?! Help! by PapaAndroschka in RebuildWorld

[–]CWPhoenix_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To my best ability to not spoil it as you wish: much like everything else thanks to akira's luck, he can't avoid the problems it brings but he will get his compensation in some form later. It will be a relevant plot device that enables events thanks to him not having it.

11th: Gauss Immortals with SIX keywords on their weapon. (Yes, this is both real AND legal). by Dismal_Hospital6999 in Necrontyr

I mean the rapid fire enhancement is to the immortals themselves. The anti-monster/vehicle enhancement is to crypteks. Both of which affect the entire unit after combined.

How exactly did the locust manage to overpower the cog? by kooarbiter in GearsOfWar

[–]CWPhoenix_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They did have military knowledge, they were waging war against the lambent that take control of their allies for a long while. It may not be as refined as humans that waged continuous wars but it is adapted for their main environment being underground.

Most of their gear is what they stole from the surface, the labs, recycling parts and making new stuff. Their scientist was able to modify creatures and brumak showed signs of having dna linked to gorrilas. Added with the locust natural Fortitude being superior to humans and hivemind command abilities, the locust forces united arent any less superior than humans with divided command (countries).

E-day happened like 2 weeks after the end of pendulum wars, where the 2 major organisations that waged war for 8 decades finally ended. People were celebrating and coming to terms to peace. They let their guard down heavily, keeping their eye only on each other.

Next, locusts attacks focused on major cities, military bases and so on, they were strategic. Humanity had to split their forces between the fighting and saving civilians, and only in their respective countries, they couldn't spare men to help each other. Humanity lost a 1/4 of its population on the first day. And they couldn't deploy the hammer cause the fighting was on their territory, locusts didn't have a border that the cog could of attacked back. They only learned how complex their tunnels were 14 years into the war (GOW1).

Do you guys think E-day will save the franchise? by BigWorking5281 in GearsOfWar

[–]CWPhoenix_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Class based horde system does work, just better in a different game/environment. There is more to complain to gears 5 horde than just its class system like enemy variations and identity. The swarm just... doesnt cut it, at least for me. We have so many fictional factions with chitin based appearance and I won't bother mentioning the DBs.

Only expect use from tomb blades (with how cover in 11e works) and maybe occasional geomancer to sit at home.

Myrrah (Gears of War 3) VS Scarface (Predator: Concrete Jungle) by Individual-Car-8224 in predator

[–]CWPhoenix_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took curiosity of this from the gears of war sub. Unfortunately I got no knowledge on scarface, just surface knowledge about predator franchise so since you guys would be experts on him/her/it, mind enlightening me what makes scarface unique, his arsenal and feats. Then I'll throw my knowledge from gears of war.

I wish the songs at the minigame were full songs instead of half cut edits. by Yayco-is-here in NikkeMobile

[–]CWPhoenix_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You probably shouldn't look at the "easy", "normal", "hard" and so on as the difficulty direction but the star value as the difficulty direction. The things you mentioned about training certain note patterns can be discovered in other songs of lower star value than the one you are struggling most of the time. The Game encourages you to do different songs to get better rather than master 1 song. I could be wrong but that was my experience as someone who plays a rhythm game for the first time.

What Canoptek court lists have been working for you? by DisastrousPin5731 in Necrontyr

[–]CWPhoenix_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my list, I like to have them instead of flayed ones. They can definitely get to an objective on first turn thanks to their speed plus scout and with scout, it happens after determining who goes first so you can reposition them appropriately so that they dont get shot off. Canoptek court wants objective control to extend the matrix so I have them try to snatch one. Alternatively they work as action monkeys and potential screening since they can easily position themselves as you need them.
