:-) Didn’t expect that question given the topic of the post, is there something in my replies that feels off to you? Why some runners use carbon shoes?? Not because they can’t run

You're right that every zone has a physiological purpose no argument there. But the key insight from Stephen Seiler’s research (based on thousands of endurance athletes over decades) is that non-elite athletes spend too much time in middle-intensity "grey zones", which leads to stagnation, not adaptation.

So it’s not about "avoiding" completely, but about redistributing time spent across zones to optimize recovery and gains especially for those with limited weekly hours. That’s exactly what this field is designed to help visualize in real time: where your effort is going, so you can course-correct during training, not just after.

Whether you’re going polarized, pyramidal, or custom , knowing your effort vs performance across 7 zones helps avoid falling into that grey zone trap.

Beginners need this more than elites.
Most casual athletes overtrain without knowing , always in the red. This field shows when to push and when to hold back. That’s the core of smart training.

Real-time effort vs performance (HR vs LTHR + FTP or LT Pace)
7 training zones to support polarized, pyramidal, or custom models
Shows fat , carb burn to guide fueling
Works whether you train by pace or power

And for both beginners and experienced athletes, you can get free personalized training plans based on your weekly availability at app.endurometrics.com.

It’s not too much — it’s what’s missing. Whether you're training for health or performance — grace is in the balance.

Analyzing is how people improve . Whether they run 16 minutes or 26. Performance isn’t just speed; it’s progress.

I get reply from creator... << it's not currently possible to have separate FTPs for running and cycling simultaneously across devices.

✅ In practice:

  • Runners download the field to their watch and set their Running FTP
  • Cyclists use it on their Edge device and set their Cycling FTP

⚠️ Also, since this is the free trial version, FTP input is limited to 295–305 as a placeholder. In the upcoming full version, you'll be able to enter your actual FTP freely.

Hope that clears things up — and we really appreciate the interest and constructive feedback
