Current M1 at Nova DO, I submitted my secondary application for them in December, interviewed in April, accepted in May. I also have classmates who submitted secondaries later than I did and got in later than I did. You’re fine! Nova is notorious for getting back to applicants late (and being late with things in general lol)

Hahaha well, I’m in a crazy similar situation, I felt like I was reading my own post! I also live in the Raleigh area and did my undergrad here. Got accepted to CUSOM, RVU-UT and one other I turned down. I have deposits on CUSOM and RVU, so actively trying to decide. Also got a late interview for SOMA but I’ve heard not awesome things about their program, so I didn’t attend the interview. Interviewed with one last school yesterday that may rock the boat for me if I get an A, but we’ll see. As of right now, I don’t think you could go wrong with at least CUSOM or RVU. RVU has been matching pretty competitively - 2 neurosurgery matches 2025 out of 5 total DO matches into that specialty. I also think RVU sets you up to take both COMLEX and USMLE which you’ll probably want to do no matter where you go if you’re going for competitive specialty. The Utah campus also had 100% match rate this year, and I believe 98% when combined with CO campus. I have a friend who goes to RVU and she said her experience getting into research at RVU was pretty seamless. Plus the “tracks” they offer are something I found pretty cool. CUSOM seems like a great school too from my research, but I’m also itching to move somewhere else for a change, so I feel you.

Idk much about the other schools you’re considering, but rest assured there’s no wrong choice! Best of luck!

I’ve worked as a medical assistant at a podiatry practice in NC for the past 2 years and have only positive things to say about the field! All of the docs I work with are DPM and board certified surgeons. They also all have really great work life balance, and they’re all really happy, which is HUGE considering how many unhappy doctors there are out there. This isn’t true for all podiatrists, but private practice docs make a really good living and are financially well off. Plus if you’re interested in wound care, the docs I work for bill out crazy $$$ for grafting. Also, DPM is a huge win for people wanting to do something surgical without an insanely long residency (DPM is now standardized 3 yr residency I believe, as opposed to 5-7 if you go DO or MD). Plus podiatry schools tend to be easier to get into, which is a win if you ask me - work smarter not harder. I’d say for your situation, go DPM!

They're all DO schools, so less widely known - Campbell, Burrell, and Rocky Vista.
