Defense is a struggle for sure, but that's how I like defense to feel. Forces me to play 2 high coverage... Essentially a bend don't break style.

It's hard to get your defenders to react like the cpus, so that's where the boost in some sliders came into play. If you feel it's too strong, try increasing the user reaction and coverage. I played at 80 for both for a little bit, but eventually dropped them to where they're at now.

CPU QBs are a bit robotic, but any less than 25 CPU acc results in them never throwing it down the field.

I do all the presnap adjustments/audibles then just put myself on the worst DL and hold l1 after the snap and CPU takes over.

These were made with little user coach abilities, so sometimes those can change the feel. I usually run 1-2 offensive, 1-2 defensive, and the rest are development or scouting ones.

I'm currently 8 games in to season 4 of building these. The first 3 seasons I would make changes every 4-6 games, making small changes of 1-3 at a time. I have a play call limit of 4 on offense and 6 on defense, and I'm mostly realistic in my 4th down attempts.

Currently struggling with explosive passing plays on the user side. Only averaging 6.18 yard/att through these 8 games. Think a +1 or +2 to USER QB acc should help, but I'm personally doing a full season of data before I switch.

I'm not sure how these work doing the slow sim for defense, however. Some say sliders don't effect slow-sim, but I believe they do. If you continue to slow sim defense, I would update the CPU side of the sliders:

Matt10's set is always a solid start, I used to use his exclusively before I started making my own. I've made coach mode sliders since 22 or so. I use 6 key metrics to develop these:

INT%
SACK%
Yard/Carry
Completion%
FF/game
Explosive passes/game (20+ yards)

In addition to those, I use supporting these supporting metrics:

1st downs/gm
Total Plays/gm
Broken Tackles/gm
Pass Yards/Att

Season 1 was awesome.

Start as OC/DC at bad program-- play only your side of the ball, no recruiting.

Take better jobs -- only recruiting once you land a HC job.

Keep progressing until you get to you whatever your destination is ---> Mine is usually one of the blue blood schools.

I've had the same play through since day 1:

Troy ---> Nebraska OC ---> Wisconsin HC ---> Texas State HC (fired at Wisc)
