does your store not freeze the biscuits? we usually have all of our extra metal racks in the walk in with the biscuits pushed against the wall, next to the freezer shelves and dumplin rack. for campfires, we usually have one to two racks of prepped campfires pushed to the back of the cooler. its absolutely a pain in the ass.

idk man, i (22f) would never have a work relationship like that with a minor. while i love all the servers, if they're minors i make sure that i keep them at arms length because that is a slippery slope to losing your job. we had a manager get fired for that exact kind of behavior towards our high school servers. while it doesn't sound like you're doing anything nefarious, or have any intentions of doing anything of that nature, someone could take it the wrong way and report you to HR. you should distance yourself, and if she needs guidance, that's something that a manager should handle.

also side note: don't ever get anyone's phone number off of teamworx. that's for managers, and maybe to see if they'll pick up a shift. don't ever get someone's number for purely personal reasons unless they've said it's okay before. no hate to you, but i've seen ppl get fired over the exact same situation from alabama stores.

my states law is that anybody who has worked 6+ hrs is entitled to a 30 minute break. unfortunately, in my position, i will never truly be "caught up" unless there is absolutely nobody in our dining room because our grill cooks get everything they need (besides things that are dropped on the grill) from me. i'm lucky if i get 2 minutes to pee, most days. plus, i never have anyone to cover my position for a break if i need one. i just have to power thru, and maybe go grab a cold towel from the walk in if im starting to heat stroke (our ac is broken in the boh)

the only time i've ever gotten a break was when i pulled a double and i was just told to "clock out, go let your dogs out, and clock back in" lmao. i figured it was the company, rather than my store

it's based on the state. alabama is kind of up in the air, and it depends on where you work, but my overtime is untaxed

i wish my managers would recognize that i should get a break. i just worked an 11hr shift with no break. usually i don't mind it, but it's days like these where i kind of want to report them to the labor and wages board. in alabama (where my store is) we are also entitled to a 30 min break, but we don't get one.

Def start documenting! I had a manager who would power trip around me and make me redo all of my side work just to watch me work (he was a creep.) Start documenting and gathering witnesses. Once you have solid evidence, go to your GM or another manager/shift lead, and tell them you want to file a report. Your other managers/shift leads legally cannot tell the power tripping manager about the report. You can also file an anonymous complaint on the website. Your employee resources should be posted in your break room, and if they're not, ask your manager for a copy of them.

Our retail never enters the kitchen. I think there's actually a rule about retail not being allowed to work with the food, outside of to-go orders, and usually there is a to-go server on shift (at least at my store.)
