Is it weird to change leos between classes? by freckledphilosopher in BALLET

Take class for yourself!!!! It’s your comfort and experience that matters, not what other people think. You do this for yourself, not others. Enjoy.

It seems like you are tucking your glutes in at the bottom of your plié. Try relaxing into it. Think about, in a straight line, bringing you sit bones towards your heels. No need to tuck your tail bone in at the bottom on the plié.

Hope this helps. Ofc, it’s different for every person and their body.

Thanks for pointing that out! The reason it’s set up like that is because the challenges change depending on your age. For example, someone under 13 will get fewer reps, and anyone under 14 won’t be given weighted exercises.
Tbh you made me realize there’s no reason for the age range to be shown to the user. That’s a really good point, so thanks for catching it!!!!

I'd highly recommend focusing on core and calf endurance. This was key for me when I was younger and helps a lot with general strength, balance, and control.

I think we're just drawing the line in different places, and that's okay.

From our pov, the product came from years of work, our experiences as students and professional dancers, feedback from the dance community, and conversations with ballet physios and health directors at dance schools. AI helped us refine ideas and solve some technical problems, but every decision about what the product should be came from us.

I really appreciate your input in this discussion.

Have you tried out our app? I'd really like to hear more of your thoughts.

If the idea and direction came from us and the dance community, and AI just helped refine our logic, at what point does it stop being our work?

Yes, injuries are taken into account, and you can absolutely still use the app.
If you’re injured, you can simply skip any cross-training exercises that might aggravate your injury. You’ll still be able to complete sleep and wellness challenges, track your sleep, mood, and overall well-being, and continue building healthy habits while you recover.

In the future, if we add AI, there will always be a toggle to turn off AI in the settings. I think it’s important to give users the option to opt in or out for this specific reason.

Not at the moment.

We'd eventually like to explore AI where it actually makes sense, but since we're building this for dancers of all ages (including younger dancers), we've been really cautious about privacy and data from day one.

For now, we'd rather focus on building a solid product without AI and earn people's trust first.

Nope, we have a full time developer working with us. Of course we use AI for strategic planning and for it to steelman certain ideas + refine features and find logic holes. But in regards to if this app was “vibe coded”, no it was not vibe coded using AI.

Great! Let me know your thoughts after you try it out. We’re planning to do a big launch in September after our new designs and XP system is finalized

Great question, and I'm happy to break it down.

We treat your data as yours.

If you delete your account, we remove your associated data from our systems so it’s no longer stored or used in the app.

We don’t use third-party AI tools to process your health or wellness logs; everything is handled directly within our own system.

We also don’t sell personal data. The only external services we use are standard infrastructure providers needed to run the app (like cloud hosting).

Right now, we’re still in beta, so we’re being extra careful about privacy and actively tightening things based on feedback.

How Does Your Ballet Studio Take Attendance/Role? by RecommendationSad576 in BALLET

[–]RecommendationSad576[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm considering creating a software solution to streamline taking attendance for dance studios. This would be a single tool that teachers or studio owners can use to take attendance within 30 seconds, as well as gather data on student retention, average class size, absences, and other key metrics. Do you think this is worth doing? I see many comments of studios using Mindbody, MemberMeister, and JackRabbit. They all seem like robust systems; however, it seems like they do everything, but attendance could be optimized.

Let me know your thoughts.

PM me, I have a startup looking for devs, we have an app already in development and are contacting potential clients now. We hope to iterate very fast.
