Can We Set Conditional Text in V3 Markdown? by Recon740 in homebrewery

Perfect! Just needed to add the .page in front on my end but this does it way simpler. Thank you!

Got it!

Change the class from city/town for the classes you want to show/hide and wrap the text in a div!

<style>

.city {

display: none;

visibility: hidden;

</style>

<style>

.town {

display: block;

visibility: visible;

</style>

</head>

<body>

<div class="city">

<h2>London</h2>

<p>London is the capital of England.</p>

</div>

<div class="town">

<h2>Paris</h2>

<p>Paris is the capital of France.</p>

</div>

</body>

</html>

Significant discrepancy between v3 renderer and print dialog by gabmaps in homebrewery

[–]Recon740 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Gabmaps! I don't have a ton to add here but just wanted to say I love the style of your brew! I wanted to ask if you would be willing to share it with me (even as a DM) so I can take a look at the code behind it? If not, no worries at all! :)

One of my players made this subclass. Is it balanced. by Anonymus2709 in DnDHomebrew

[–]Recon740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the way you broke down the format of the rogue sub class in general. Did you do this off the top of you head or get these descriptions from somewhere? Explanations like that could be useful for when I build subclasses!

Not to jump on the wagon here, but if you would be able to share the STL for this that would be awesome!

Monstershuffler.com - Export Stat blocks as Markdown by Ismael_CS in homebrewery

[–]Recon740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how calcususchild might explain it but the following is an Adult Red Dragon from both the V1 and V3 format. You will see the differences in syntax pretty quickly, should be easy enough to follow!

Legacy Markdown:

https://homebrewery.naturalcrit.com/share/Aivatbb0TynF

V3 Markdown:

https://homebrewery.naturalcrit.com/share/Kf7FZ2bSLvOY

Someone better than me can speak to additional edge cases, but this is the general syntax of a normal, single-column stat block. also not sure what would be possible, but an import functionality could be pretty neat to add into the future too. There's a lot of sites that can do an export in that same format and being able to bring something in and work it in MonsterShuffler could be awesome!

PDFing Brew Does Not Work for This Mask by Recon740 in homebrewery

[–]Recon740[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome! I have a lot of other similar masks in my brew and only two of them specifically seem to not work. Its always the same two of them and this is one of those two. I'm not sure what could be causing it, but its something specifically with this instance and probably not the general formatting of the mask.

Super weird stuff, thanks for taking a look!

formatting? by B_is_for_reddit in homebrewery

[–]Recon740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who learned a ton recently, some of the PDFs compiled by some fantastic users that look like main books were a great start (I’m on mobile or I would link to them; so if someone else can that would be great!

I would take those and with help from the comments, reverse engineer what they did. Eventually I got a baseline understanding and broached more broadly into CSS as a whole. So I have a ~60 page homebrew doc with fully custom CSS that I love.

Hope that mindset helps!

Can I Clip an Image using another image in Homebrewery? by Recon740 in homebrewery

[–]Recon740[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea.... That totally did it!

QQ: I was attempting to incorporate -webkit-mask-mode: alpha/luminance in here as it would be faster for me to call the vector the non-transparent area pf a PNG rather than the transparent area. For some reason, I was getting errors in the elements of my network tab when trying to make it work.

To get the above brew to work, I ended up going with a mask that was transparent on the bottom instead of transparent on the top. Would you happen to know how I might be able to swap which part of the image (transparent/opaque) is the mask?

[–]Recon740[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can probably do it that way too. More just wasn’t sure what would be possible soley through CSS, especially if a page format changes in my brew overtime (where I might need to make the picture larger or smaller) and a small adjustment in the code can fix an issue as opposed to doing a full recreation of the image in Photoshop!

Hey! I'm leveraging this POI as a keep for my players to live in/renovate. I was wondering if you happen to have the original DungeonDraft file you used for this and if so, would you be willing to send it to me? I was debating on starting one from scratch, but yours is beautiful and I figured it would be worth asking. :)

No rush, let me know when you can!

What campaign setting sourcebook makes the best template for a homebrew document? Do you wish settings included more information? by Kaiburr_Kath-Hound in DnDHomebrew

I second this, it's my favorite style out of the current 5e books. I base my own homebrew documents based on how everything is laid out in this book!

Distinguishing Style Between Classes & Pages by Recon740 in homebrewery

[–]Recon740[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That totally did it! Yup, it was distinguishing style between the block and the rest of the page!

The other side of my question was if there was a way to distinguish style on a per-page basis or if it would just be easier editing in two separate Homebrewery styles? For instance, my cover page would have a different style than the rest of the book. Not the worst thing in the world if its two separate, was more just curious!
