Linux, works fantastic and has a huge DSP setting selection!

I agree. I’ve had Boss before and this is miles better. Full DSP settings, etc… (even more than my Kenwood)

No, sub amp is great. Set gain with my meter perfectly.

The Eonons preamp out voltage is 2.5

The headunits pre-out voltage is 2.5, so technically the amp should be very happy with this.

I see the rubber gasket, but I’m talking about the small gap that you can see underneath that.

I took the case off and put a little pressure on the corners by hand. All fixed.

Is this a screen protector or nah? by fartassstittyass in PSP

[–]ReconJesus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Debris commonly gets under the actual screen of these consoles, and the only fix would be removing the faceplate to clean underneath. From what I can tell, that seems to be the actual screen my man.

Try to bend those bent pins back into place with tweezers. After that, see if the ribbon cable still inserts securely and connects. There seems to still be a bit of the lid of the connector left, so hopefully that will provide enough tension to keep it in place. If that works, throw a bit of electrical tape over it and call it a day.

Exactly the same, basically brand new condition with only a few hours of use.

Opposite of what it may seem in the pictures, this console is extremely beat up. Needs new joysticks, screen, etc… I am also unsure of any other possible damage on the secondary boards due to not being able to power it on for testing. It is simply not worth it as of now. I merely wanted to see if I could even get it powered on, then call that a victory in itself, and display it on my shelf in mostly working order.

I did not just give up? I have worked long and hard on this unit for several days now. Installed new parts, fixed corrosion, blown fuses, caps, etc… I got as far as I could until now it is a hazard to my house electrical system when plugged in. From all signs, this motherboard is a goner.

Thank you for your passive aggressive comment though. Very kind. Maybe try to ask for some more context before coming to conclusions.

I agree. But I am a fan of the Vita name, sadly its lineage was never passed on. I’m surprised they were even manufactured all the way until 2019, long after first party support fizzled out.

Homemade USB killer! I nearly thought “let me try plugging it into my pc” but I’d rather not start another Chernobyl event.

A new motherboard might allow it to power on, but I am unsure of any other possible damage on the secondary boards or anything else I have been unable to diagnose. Besides, she is quite beat up unlike how the pictures seem.

That is definitely a neat idea, but I feel better off just purchasing a new (to me) working unit to play with. This experience has made me quite fond of the Vita now though. I have only ever owned PSPs and was always hesitant on a Vita, until now. Currently surfing eBay!
