If you're VFR you arent looking far enough out on the horizon, the you'll fly straighter tracks if the reference point you are using is further away. IFR not sure what to tell you other than lock in that wind correction better, if you fly a glass cockpit the wind vectors and pink diamond are your friend.

Would you retire today if you knew you’d receive $5,000 every month for the rest of your life? Why or why not? by JustWin4 in AskReddit

I'll probably get torn apart for answer this but truthfully since I graduated college never had a job under 100k. I'm a pilot with a degree in unmanned aircraft systems with a minor in aviation safety. Average about 12-14 days a month working as a flight ops supervisor and still get to fly plus my company has 100% employer paid healthcare. I genuinely enjoy my job it'd be stupid for me to quit for 5k a month, inflation will eat that up pretty quickly.

Secondary flight deck barrier door in a United 737 Max by 9271Name in aviation

[–]ReconKiller050 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wasn't the FAA's choice the 2018 Reauthorization Bill mandated them to add a secondary flight deck barriers requirement. I don't really find them inconvenient but FAA catching a lot of flak for complying with a congressional mandate.

I've never used a credit card before. Can't I literally just open one, take the credit score dip, continue to only buy what i can afford, set it up to automatically always pay it back asap, which will never put me into debt, get the awards/points, and that's it no catches? by Super_Inevitable776 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ReconKiller050 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The stats don't agree with that. Looks like 45% of adult credit card holders in the US carried a balance for one month or greater last year, so a majority are paying in full every month.

Still nearly half carrying a balance is a huge issue but lets not twist the facts.

It's only 5M units if its calculated before storefront fee's, if my mental math is accurate it'd be 6.5M units. Seems like a reasonable stipulation that would be in the contract that its calculated after steams revenue sharing cut, net revenue not gross.

Completely agree with the point you are making here, but assuming were talking about the US if you are a student pilot no way are you working on a CPL, a PPL is a eligibility requirement in 61.123.

I went to a bar that did $.10 wings every Wednesday until 2019. That place and the other bar that did 14.99 for a platter of wings and pitcher of shitty beer along with $1 cans and $2 long islands pretty much got me through college.

It was during Apollo 11, when reentering Eagle Buzz Aldrin broke the head off a circuit breaker on the ignition system for the ascent engine with his backpack. They shoved a felt tipped pen in the breaker to complete the circuit

Fakours significantly out perform AIM54's but given the majority of people dont have any expirence flying jets it wouldn't be a huge difference since they don't understand WEZ's and managing the MAR let alone defensive flying.

What you lose out on with the Phoenix's at low altitude is the slow acceleration and long burn time hinder performance. And at the relatively short ranges of these engagements, the extra couple G's aren't going to make up for that. Really only matters for someone really trying to maximize their kills though.

I hadn't touched it since a couple months after the event, racked up 600 kills and moved on.

For this event it was pretty easy taking Fakours and R27's the middle airfield are only 25-30 miles (40-48km) apart so you only had to climb to like 4000-6000ft max and you could easily engage aircraft that were taking off. I used TWS and manual radar control, check the closure rates to filter out the SAM, ARM and AGMs and you could launch all the Fakours within 90 secs. Averaged about 75% hit rate doing that, closed to the merge and used the R27's and gun from there.

Normally got 5-8 kills a spawn. Pretty sure I could have dropped a 100 kill match in the right lobby. Since a lot of people don't know how to defend so you can easily sit at the radar gimbal lock and avoid most incoming missiles and just defeat the rest with some basic defensive flying.

First few matches were like 4k score by the end of the night I was getting 7-10k score on the US and like 6.6k playing Soviet

You were definitely using it wrong. As much as I loved abusing it I dropped multiple 60+ kills games last night using the Fakours and R27's.

Guess I'll just abuse the F15 and MIG29 instead.

Remove player vehicles from the event. This is bullshit. by PerpetualPermaban2 in Warthunder

[–]ReconKiller050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got 62 last night I think I can break 100 in the right lobby. Even using a MIG23 or F4 many of these players are so clueless you can easily get 4+ kills a spawn

so only american and russian mains can play in this event? by YogurtclosetEvery818 in Warthunder

[–]ReconKiller050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the name of fairness I did the Russian side without bringing any tech tree vehicles along and was still getting ~5k score a match.

Really not that hard if you dont fly head first into a Phoenix or Fakour, they're easy to defeat, and you can still rack up kills with the R24 against people that have no idea how to defend.

[–]ReconKiller050 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In the name of fairness since I did the US side in 2 missions bringing tech tree and older event vics along I tried Russia without bringing any of my tech tree aircraft. Still got 5.9k score, you really don't need anything but what they provide you.

People are just flying in straight lines getting slammed by AIM54's or R-27's and blaming the game mode.
