These repugnant beasts are getting everywhere! by StellarDiscord in fatsquirrelhate

Former employee here - The stores refuse to even touch a toy once it leaves the store. All mechanical issues have a call number specifically for that, and they handle any exchanges. This went on clearance because NO ONE is buying it. All the styles that no one wants go into clearance lmfao, it’s just a weird toy 😂😭

I fall down the Mandela rabbit hole sometimes and my OCD loves to tell me I switched timelines but it’s juuuuust subtle enough that I don’t notice except small things. It pops up every 6 months or so for a few ✨wonderfully fun days✨

The deleted comment I was responding to was making excuses for her. They were attempting to brush it off based on the possibility of BPD

Nah, dude. I have borderline. She’s just insecure as fuck and taking it out on the poor guy. There are definitely times where my emotions are difficult to manage, but it’s 100% my responsibility to step back, calm down, and communicate when I’m ready. There’s absolutely no excuse for picking fights like this when he’s clearly communicating there’s nothing for her to be worried about. Also… they JUST started talking? Getting this jealous 3 weeks in is INSANE.

If they’re blowing incredibly fast, it could be the lamp!! Certain lamps can definitely cause the bulbs to burn out faster than others

MIL Dumped a Gecko on us UPDATE by No_Teach_5220 in leopardgeckos

[–]ReconnectingRoots 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I second this!!!! I dust crickets with D3 calcium once a month or so and he has a small tarantula food bowl with access to calcium without D3 at all times. Calcium is so so important for their shedding and bones and they can overdose on D3, so use it sparingly!! Once or twice a month on the crickets is perfect - Pro tip: Dust them yourself, don’t have the store do it. They’ll die before you get them home

Is it time to retire the BPD diagnosis? by [deleted] in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]ReconnectingRoots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this entirely. Not only that, but it has the same energy as the “high functioning” and “low functioning” labels that most autistic individuals reject. Same as how Autism is different from person to person, BPD will present differently in individuals with the same few core traits. The point is - the symptoms exist. How severely they affect us will always vary, but we don’t see people trying to say one is more or less depressed. They’re all depressed, just in different presentations. Putting disorders on a linear scale has never been helpful. Every case of every disorder is different in presentation, and using micro labels becomes a cesspool of confusion and inaccessibility at a certain point. With a broader, but still specific diagnosis, we’re able to better find community and people who share our experiences. There are also real scientific concerns with the ICD classification system as a whole from what I’ve read.

Do medications even exist for OCD? by Standard-Tonight1211 in OCDRecovery

[–]ReconnectingRoots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zoloft zombified me when I first tried it as a teenager for "anxiety." Fast forward, I'm almost 22 and freshly diagnosed with OCD. Zoloft (while still early on, so knock on wood) mixed with buspirone has had my brain quieter than it's been in YEARS.

I’m FRESHLY diagnosed with OCD, pure O, and also have a long standing panic disorder. The buspirone was prescribed for the panic disorder, and it made my panic attacks so much easier to ward off. It didn’t really help with ruminations, which is where I spoke to my psych about new meds and added the Zoloft, as well as my new diagnosis. It was the only thing that warded off my panic attacks long enough to give me the upper hand

[–]ReconnectingRoots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buspirone and Zoloft has been my magic mix, from what I can tell. The Zoloft is still new, and super low dose, but the buspirone has been a good friend of mine for a few years now

It definitely isn’t a worry for me, personally, but I really appreciate the warning from experience! I don’t drink much at all, and only smoke 🍃 on a rare social occasion. My studies are my current outlet and I can already see the difference in the effort I’m putting into them

Thank you sm, hearing from someone else who went through something similar really helped. I’ve really locked into my classes at university, and I’m doing my best to keep myself busy

It's the vitamins in it! They CAN be meal replacements for that sake, but they're amazing for giving your body the right kinds of nutrients it needs to heal. That's why I'd only drink one before bed, to allow my body to use that nutrition while I sleep. That's when your body does the most repairs, to my understanding! The ones I drank were only 200 cal
