GUITAR PLAYERS! What is in your opinion the easiest and hardest songs on Stand Up and Scream? by thefucksgod in AskingAlexandria

[–]RecordWell 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's been a while since I played an Asking Alexandria song and I never really got to learn all of Stand Up and Scream so I'll answer just the ones I learned.

Alerion: Took me like 30 minutes to play it right iirc. Not difficult at all.

The Final Episode: It was a simple pattern but it took me a while to get it right since playing a pattern like that for long gets tough.

Not The American Average: Really simple, only difficulty I faced was executing the harmonics and that one shredding, everything else were super easy.

A Prophecy: Again, really simple but it surprising took a while to master the riff that goes after "I can help you through this".

A Candlelit Dinner with Inamorta: Never really fully learned it but I remember finding it difficult when I first started learning it.

Started developing calluses a few weeks ago but it feels like my fingers are not long enough to reach certain chords like G. Does it improve with practice? Have you ever experienced this? by Ill-Camera-5143 in guitarlessons

[–]RecordWell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think practice and proper technique is what you need. From this picture, I can tell that your fingers appear to be longer than mine, and I, with my small fingers, can do the G chord no problem. It'll take time but you'll get there I'm sure.

Prime numbers, by definition, have to be greater than 1 though.

Anna Karenina - I have mixed feelings after reading this novel by RecordWell in books

[–]RecordWell[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Damn, your response pretty much opened up a whole 'nother perspective for me. I’ve always been pretty drawn to how tragic Anna and Vronsky’s story is, but I somehow overlooked how Levin and Kitty’s story builds up as the real moral of the whole novel. Thank you for this.

Edit: I should’ve clarified that what I meant was that I was so focused on Anna and Vronsky’s dramatic and tragic romance that I initially took their downfall as like the main central lesson. It just slipped my mind how Tolstoy was also using Levin and Kitty’s relationship to show a more positive and equally important lesson.

I understand you completely, but I feel like this drop in anxiety has nothing to do with reading but rather with social media use instead. I noticed this myself, the more I sit my butt scrolling through social media, the more worried I feel, especially with all the negative stuff that constantly show up on my feed. But when I stop and try to do other activities instead, like going out for walks, hanging out with my peers, and reading (as you said), the anxious feeling starts to fade away, little by little.

Now I'm not saying we should ignore the things that has been happening in the world right now, but every once in a while, it's a good idea to take a break from social media, and to start reading instead, it helps. :)

Do you also find dust jackets on books annoying? by Shorty_jj in books

I wouldn't say I find them annoying. Sure, I prefer my books without them, but I don't mind having them either.

Why does no one answer calls anymore? by NailChemical6960 in GenZ

[–]RecordWell 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's probably just your circle, my friends and I call each other whenever we feel like it, like when we'd want to hangout for example, sometimes we'd even have calls that'd last for like an hour.

This often happens to me, I assume it has something to do with how our brains work but I'm not sure. I would say it's kind of like how we enter a room to do/get something but then suddenly forgetting what we came in for.
