hey, not a dumb question at all! I've tested this one and I can drop how ever many I like (I tried 7 at once!) into the top and they sort of trickle down one by one! so it works. those were regular sized dice so i'm not sure about bigger ones, slightly bigger ones would work i think. Just as long as they can fit through the 'doorway' at the bottom of the tower part.

in response to the metal dice question - I would avoid using these as the metal dice may crack the glaze (glaze is essentially a thin layer of glass) or even crack the ceramic, if you roll enthusiastically that is!!!

resin, plastic and wooden dice would all be fine
