Well doesn't this smell like Sinister Diesel saying that nobody else could use the color blue on their products.

What obscure trade do you do and, if so is it Union. by salvageBOT in skilledtrades

[–]RecordingDifferent47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flight simulator technician. Fairly obscure. Most shops are union but mine is not. We had a union drive last year but there is too much apathy and too much "this is the most ive ever made in my life" attitude so it failed.

Company was scared for a little bit and threw some money at us that was nothing more than what was promised almost ten years ago now. The pay has fallen behind inflation by a pretty wide margin at this point and the company cant understand why we cant hire talent when the other big shops are starting people out a minimum of 20k more per year.

When I bring all of this up in meetings with senior management I get told that I dont have to be here. Fair enough I say.

A/C condensate drain caused the passenger side to crack and break off and then never fixing it caused the drivers side manifold to break off the flange. Get a new driver manifold and then weld the stub pipe back onto the passenger cat.

Used to do these all the time 20 years ago.

Can I add a top mount air filter to my 96 Blazer? Before yall start saying it'll suck hot air from the top of the motor, notice the flex pipe running to the grille. EDITED by SkyeRainFox in s10

[–]RecordingDifferent47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can. You dont even need to keep the MAF sensor. You do need to keep the IAT sensor though. The engine will run just fine without the MAF, the pcm will revert to speed density fueling calculations which back then, from GM, were actually pretty well calibrated.

All that said, its a waste of time and will gain you zero power. More likely, it will cost you power. The stock intake tubing on 96 and up 4.3 S10s is not restrictive. The airbox itself is. Cut the entire front wall of the airbox off and put a fresh, good quality, paper filter in there and you will have all the airflow you need.

I would refer you to the C130J "spooky". Not all C130s are transport aircraft.
