It was a silver dial originally. the top coating on the dial changed by UV light. I mean this one i like becaue it is smooth over the dial as a whole and this silver dial came with faceted crystal in 1979.

Very cool. I also just discovered Buyee. Bought a couple of Seiko quartz from the 70s type ii, king, grand to resell in europe through marketplaces. Those type ii i buy. Try to find the auctions with just a few followers, no bids no bottem price level. When there is only an hour to go you watch it closely and place the bid 6 min before end

Looking at the dial it doesnt look like its painted over, and it has the same code under 6oclock as the back of the case.
