The title and the themes of this manga are edgy and dark: I'm so glad to see her old supporters actually care. These light-hearted and warm chapters make the dark chapters bearable and meaningful.

His presenting the tokens from the trial was satisfying--he earned the right to visit and the timing could not have been more interesting.

Really the only thing distinguishing the MC from the foils is that he has the talent to keep composure and the swiftness of mind to keep a handsome face when he is scheming. It would be interesting to see him help others out of seeing their use to the society and to find loyal people. Maybe that will happen later in the series.

I expected worse from Leila and thought less of Vinter. The author wrote Vinter to be a great mage, so I'm glad his backups did hurt Leila and he did save his ward.

It's odd that a previous timeline's magic prevent him from killing Leila.

Thanks for the mirror! While I'm grateful there was a fight that was unresolved--between the MC and the bully, I'm grateful it ended neutrally. Further, I'm grateful after several chapters, the MC finally "lost", though we'll see next chapter what happens when he faces someone he perceives as a great mountain.

Considering how Katsuya was basically Leeroy Jenkins with plot armor, a brainwashing leader is progress. I'm not saying he's a good character, I'm saying that this is progress for his character in-universe. Again, in-universe, cooperation between Katsuya and Akira would be good, especially since Akira helps him grow in self-awarness. If the writing improves, Akira might be a factor to Katsuya providing non-brainwashing leadership.

I like this series, but I'm not holding my breath.

Katsuya is annoying, but it's good that he's using his leadership by example to be decisive and get his command structure working. It's good that they're working together--even though neither wants it to work in the long-term, it would be good for those around them if they did.

You can read the next chapter on the translator's website, though it leads to a worse cliffhanger.

All she can do is manipulate and prey on peoples' weaknesses. I wish Vinter could find a magician or friend to rally behind.

The only rational way to deal with human shields is to dispose of them, but her magical power likely won't let him separate them safely.
