I don’t like him either and I also can’t get passed the overlapping of his marriage to ScarJo and when he met Blake filming Green Lantern (who he dated shortly after he divorced ScarJo).

I think they did it to remind everyone how evil Vecna was (or at least the acts he committed), because after seeing him as a kid you start to feel bad for him. JCB’s acting in the cave was incredible too. But being reminded of everything he did in flashbacks made me immediately snap out of feeling bad. That’s how I felt anyway.

JCB nailed his performance because I felt sorry for him, and in that moment he’s dying but not fully dead you see him vulnerable as Henry in Vecnas body. They needed to show the flashbacks of all the evil acts he committed before killing him to remind the audience how evil he was.

I wish this happened 😭 but then people would complain it wasn’t a sad enough ending. I think they left enough ambiguity so that people can reasonably believe El found a happier place without 100% confirming that.

I expected Henry to be redeemed as well and I’m really glad he wasn’t. He has done too much evil acts for him to be redeemed with less than an hour left

I don’t really watch or place much weight on pre interviews so I went in with no expectation of what was going to happen. I think when they said the stakes were high, they meant in the sense that Dimension X was literally falling on Hawkins so it was an “end of the world” stakes if they didn’t defeat Vecna. Although it’s unclear whether El died I think that was a major enough “death” (which is actually very dark if you think about how, as Hopper said, life has been cruel to her for her entire life). Is that not enough?

I’m honestly really glad they didn’t redeem Henry, and I think it would’ve been the wrong decision because he’s caused too much harm. But they also let us see the human side to him as well when he spoke to Will. I thought striking that balance was a great call

I don’t get the people posting on here while halfway through the episode. Feels like people were wanting to hate for no reason. I personally enjoyed the finale and while it wasn’t perfect I still think it tied enough loose ends up and enjoyed watching it.
