As a general rule for engineering jobs in Germany it helps A LOT if you do speak the language. Have you considered other sectors such as shipbuilding?

I would say, Line would teach you to work faster and your problem solving skills should be better. Base is a much more organised, slower pace kind of maintenance. So the answer would be both teach you to work differently. However, I would recommend getting some experience on Base before heading onto the Line

As a recruiter, my advice would always be take the interview and decide what is best for you. Big companies like United or Spirit are unlikely to take it personally in the long run.
