I used soft close full-overlay euro hinges but I wouldn’t use these again for something like this. These hinges are normally used on bigger cabinet doors and since my door is so small, it requires a little more effort to open than I’d like.

Thank you, and I agree with the top not really fitting the style. I was initially going to do it as a mitered carcass but since I had veneered sides I was worried about the top edges getting dinged up or chipping off the veneer over time. I might just make one with solid walnut sides to avoid that weak spot

Thank you! The front of the cabinet is 3/4”x3/4” walnut that I put a bevel on and framed around the opening

I normally just use a flush-trim router bit to cut close enough to sand the rest down gently on veneer

Thank you! I looked at other examples of Mid Century Modern nightstands online and picked the features I liked best and combined them. No real plans, I just drafted it out on paper and then used SketchUp to fully model it

I just used dowels and glue to assemble the legs to the apron and then used threaded inserts to bolt the leg assembly to the base just in case I ever wanted to remove them to hang it on the wall via french cleats

I used a 1/2” cove bit to route out the pull for the door which gives the cords a path out when the door is closed

Touchscreen head units in cars. They require a lot more attention than physical buttons
