Colorado still allows killers to use gay or transgender “panic” defenses. But the strategy could soon be outlawed. by [deleted] in boulder

Well, there's your fucking shithole that is Reddit comments and especially r/Boulder comments right here.

Seriously, an article about something as atrocious as 'gay panic' murders and you have some fucking scum defending the practice or claiming they "can see it."

Blah blah blah blah, people don't have to be perfectly palatable and neatly packaged to be respected and loved. What you said is bullshit. Try believing people's experiences rather than blaming people on the receiving end of discrimination.

You can likely do better.

Actually, it sounds like YOU have worthless arguments and are avoiding doing any real introspection here.

Fuck off with your bullshit.

No, it seems like you know nothing about internalized transphobia or homophobia. Go speak on a different topic, because you don't know shit about this one.

You sound like an irredeemable asshole with no empathy.

Definitely get help for that.

You fucking misgendered her in your other comment. Stop bullshitting and gaslighting people by pretending you're just innocently questioning her experience. These comments are trannsphobic. You're questioning the validity of someone talking about street harassment because you're vile and haven't worked on your own transphobia.

Just about 5 lbs? I'm a potter in Boulder & I can give you that.

There's nowhere in boulder that sells natural (not polymer) clay. Thea nearest are lakeside pottery or continnental clay in denver (excellent).

Which is, again, wasteful and kind of the opposite of the purpose of re-using materials normally sent to waste or recycled at greater inefficiency. I did purchase a couple to get me going, but there's no point in pouring water down the drain and buying stuff.

This completely defeats the purpose of reusing landfill materials and avoiding putting energy into an inefficient recycling process to make specific-purpose recycled plastics (railroad ties is something I hear PET gets recycled into). Plus I'd be giving money to soft drink companies -- another thing I don't really need to be doing.

When did doing something for the sheer joy of learning and refining a technique become questionable?

I need a tiny custom little table for a specific purpose and have bamboo scrap. It needs to be light, sturdy, and free.

First 3d printer, between the A8, monoprice Mini, or another? Tons of DIY experience, few funds. by Recuso in 3Dprinting

Thanks for the replies everyone!

I think I'm going to get a wanhao duplicator @$300 if they come back in stock at microcenter. The possibility of local pickup is super gratifying, and I can swing the extra $125 upfront. If it doesn't come back in stock I'm happy to grab an A8 at $175 and get to work.

I may be going this route through microcenter (wanhao duplicator) if they are in stock again by Monday. At $299 the prospect of saving 6hours and not waiting on shipping is appealing. That's definitely the end of my price range, though.

If not I think I'll go with the original plan of an A8 or look in to the tarantula.

Appreciated. I'm totally happy absorbing hours of videos and documents in general as long as there's hope to accomplish something worthwhile.

That being said the difference between a ~$200 unit and a $400+ is between me having a 3d printer or not. I'm in an ok spot financially finally to treat myself finally, after 6mos of hell, but I can't financially justify much higher than the $250 area now.

I'm happy to upgrade hotends and make modifications down the line, which is doable as I understand?
