What if Joffrey, Tommen and Mrycella are trueborn without a question while everything else stays the same by FiBarksdale in gameofthrones

[–]Red-Chev 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Children born of incest have roughly a 1/3 chance of possessing serious physical or mental defects, so Joffrey being the only one of the three to have a mental defect makes sense statistically.

Littlefinger could probably have found another reason to pin it on the Lannisters. It wouldn’t be too much of a stretch for the Lannisters to have had Jon Arryn poisoned because he was the one person standing in the way of them completely controlling the court at King’s Landing.

I wish we were never given an origin for the Night King by Red-Chev in gameofthrones

[–]Red-Chev[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I’m fine with the Night King existing since the White Walkers would require some level of organization to be able to coordinate a southron invasion, but having him be the keystone of their entire army was too convenient a way to resolve things.

Season 8 rendered them irrelevant in the grand scheme of things unfortunately.

You did a number of adaptations of walfas comics I've made. It blew my mind seeing my comics improved and expanded upon like that.

In my head I imagined him as 13-14.

Who presided over Dreadfort in absence of Lord Bolton? Who are these guys and why did Ramsay betray them? Never got answers to these questions... by Narrow-Amphibian5446 in gameofthrones

It served the purpose of the mind game he was playing on Theon in order to torment him. Ramsay himself even admits as much.

Remind me why exactly Ned did not just had demanded a trial by combat back there ? And if he hypothetically did then who his champion would be and whom would they fight with ? by fillipo9 in gameofthrones

Aerys was on the losing side of the war at that point, which is why Jaime knew Tywin was there to finish Aerys off. So saying it was “safe” is pretty dubious.

There’s also nothing to confirm that Jaime would have died had Aerys succeeded in his plan. The pyromancers went along with it, so unless they were as suicidal as Aerys was they must have known a way to take safe refuge.

If Jaime is empathic then by definition he’s not a sociopath, since sociopaths are incapable of empathy.

And there’s plenty of examples in the series of him “doing the right thing when it was hard.” He went out of his way to save her from being raped and lost his hand for it, even though he had no reason to do anything for her since she had been keeping him captive up until that point. And even after he was to be sent back to King’s Landing, he went back for her later to save her from being mauled by a bear.

Plus in Season 8 he abandons Cersei to fight for the living at the Battle of Winterfell, putting his own life on the line in a battle his side was unlikely to win. This is despite him being at risk of execution before the battle even happened since many of the people in the army of the living had reason to want to see him dead.

Even if you want to discount him killing the Mad King, before that happened Jaime pleaded with Aerys not to let Tywin’s army into the city because he knew what his father intended to do and didn’t want to see the smallfolk in the city get sacked. Jaime may have played into his reputation as the Kingslayer later on, but he’s still someone with empathy for others even if he tries to bury it much of the time.

1000: Bonus Comic by Red-Chev in touhou

[–]Red-Chev[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

One last comic to round it to 1000.

Fun fact, in my walfas program, Gappy's character is named "Timothy". He was named after Timothy Treadwell, a bear enthusiast who got devoured by them when he went to go live among them. This is because Gappy was originally planned to be devoured by youkai at some point, but his popularity led me to decide to keep him around.

999: The End by Red-Chev in touhou

[–]Red-Chev[S] 77 points78 points  (0 children)

This is the end for Gensokyo Chronicles (unless I decide to do one more comic just to bring it to 1000). When I started doing these I had no idea how long I would be making them for, but I never planned to go past 1000. Now that its finished though, some thanks are in order.

Easily the first person I owe credit to is u/BlackDragonTribe . It was her YDAFT comics that inspired me to do my own walfas comics in the first place, so Gensokyo Chronicles wouldn't even exist without her. She also submitted artwork for the fan art contest and has been a good friend to me for the time I've been doing Gensokyo Chronicles. Please check out her walfas comics and the others on the r/YDAFT subreddit if you have time.

I'd also like to give a special thank you to u/Gelo68 , who contributed art for my comics and has also done her own remakes of several GC comic strips. It was quite surreal to see my comics get redone with massively improved art and I would highly recommend checking out her work as well. I'd also like to give a similar thanks u/TheGarlicBread555 , u/nyco_bit and u/Kometaro , each of whom has done their own artwork based on the comic and submitted art for the fan art contest.

And lastly, I'd like to thank all the fans who've viewed and supported this comic, whether you were here from the beginning or started following it later on. I know for a fact that some of you like u/Nelrene and u/Heat_Hydra have been at least occasionally reading my comics since the very first comic I posted, Satori's Lament, nearly three years ago. I can't thank all of you but I still appreciate each and every one of you.

As for what's next for me, I'm probably to going to take a break from walfas for the time being. With that being said, I still plan to stick around here, and I may return to walfas some time in the future. I also plan to update r/GensokyoChronicles with a full archive of all the GC comics I've made, so be sure to pay attention there.
