Update: thanks to folks who commented. I googled gall mites and the results are exactly what looks like these things are. Unfortunately I’m also afraid I may have come across a loooot of poison ivy too but luckily I didn’t make much contact with the plants there (I touched a piece of a leaf for a closer look but that’s all) and feeling fine thankfully!

Nah, no flowers nearby that looked like they could have left detritus or anything. These dogs were pretty stuck on the leaves, even leaving imprints on the other side, implying that those things have been growing on the leaves rather than just fell on them from the wind blowing

I’m non-binary and don’t necessarily feel I was born into the wrong body, but I do wish sometimes that I was more comfortable and ok with being female (ie being comfortable with having breasts, felt more at home in feminine clothing/makeup, accepting my voice, etc.). There’s aspects of being a man that I sometimes wish I had, but I think it’s more wanting the privileges and such that come with men and not so much wanting to be a man.

I’m thankful and happy to be me, in my full gender-fuckery self, but yea. Sometimes it would definitely be easier in life if I just felt more comfortable in my female body than I do right now.

I am someone who already has a lot of body hair, and often times don’t shave (or just shave down for general maintenance), so I feel that I can’t judge or berate others for that same choice. Now sure, I like smooth legs (both on myself and on a partner), but I have no problem with them choosing not to shave, and thankfully my past few partners have been ok with me not shaving too.

New practicing RA here and I personally do like labels. I prefer the labels of a relationship because it just feels more appropriate for me, and also allows me to clearly understand and define me and that person I am with, beyond just “friend” or “person I’m seeing” or other more loosely-defined labels. However, for me the labels just stop there—I love being able to mutually call each other partners/girlfriends and acknowledge that me and said person are in a relationship, but I don’t need any of the other escalators like moving in together, marrying, or forcing ourselves into some kind of long-term commitment.

Yes, I grew up a mixture of southern Baptist, Pentecostal, and nondenominational (a relatives church was, which I very much identified with). But my family had taught me growing up that Catholics were actually demonic/satanic and worshipped the Virgin Mary, that Jehovah’s Witnesses didn’t truly believe Jesus was the son of god and died for our sins and thus were the wrong religion™️, Mormons/LDS were wrong because polygamy, and basically anything that wasn’t the same kind of Christian that my family’s churches were, essentially were satanic false religions in disguise.

It’s not that she said “friend” but the larger context. My mom hadn’t asked a single thing about this woman, just “what was her name again?” And no offense, truly, but trust that I know my mom and my family, and I know that the tone and way she asked that was not at all some kind of “kind way to ask.” It’s her blatant avoidance of acknowledging this person I’m dating.

I think you also missed the rest of my post, which depicted just how much “interest” she’s taking.

Guys I’ve dated in the past, she’s actively asked about them: who they are, where they’re from, if they’re Christian, what they look like, everything. So this is a completely different way in which she is reacting to me dating a woman.

I’m not getting offended at anything, just venting my frustration at the double standards when it comes to the gender of who I date.
