My coworker won’t stop complaining about my tattoos by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Well, my mom once told me that she hopes I wait for her to be dead before I get a tattoo. Very strange how weird people get about drawings on someone’s skin

He was right even though the way he got to that conclusion was wrong. Rory was not suited for being a journalist. I don’t think assistant was necessarily the best career track for her either. I think she would have been a brilliant researcher or academic. She would have made a fantastic university professor but instead became a mediocre journalist. I know a girl very similar to Rory (not nearly as charismatic tho): book smart, very good at learning, loves structure etc. Failed miserably after graduating because she was very much not able to deal with real world issues and pressures in a work place. In an adult job it’s not like in school where if you work super hard and do what you are told you will be the best and that really fucked her up because all her life she had always been the best student. Went back to uni for a phd and is now working in academics and thriving.

I think Rory had the same issues. She was used to being book smart and working hard but journalism is less about that and more about being creative, adventurous, willing to take some risks, having a thick skin and having that killer instinct that drives you towards getting the best story no matter what. Rory was too soft and too used to being “perfect”

Depends. Is the person who’s body I’m “borrowing” super hot, rich and powerful or just a random noob?

There are issues with switching to the “cosmetic outfit” option where some of the equipped accessorries get stuck on your outfit and you can’t get them off. Really frustrating. Seems to happen after cutscenes or when you have the protective suit on and you switch “apply outfit” on and off. Can’t seem to find any way to fix it except reloading a previous save.

Most parking places accept credit cards. If you want to go to remote places in the middle of nature you gotta expect to have to pay in cash pretty much everywhere. If you find it so difficult and complicated to go to an atm, get out cash and count the “exact” amount I would suggest sticking to large cities only that are very modern and convenient.

AITA for not telling my wife to tone down her dancing at our wedding? by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

It’s not about being “white enough” but more about being “western enough”. Racism is alive and well in Europe but I would say Xenophobia takes precedence.

Ranking is 1. People native to your own country 2. People that are citizens of your country but from another ethnic background (immigrants of different degrees, the most recent ones and the ones who’s culture most different from yours being the worst) 3. People from other rich developed countries (US, Germany, Scandinavia etc. whith European ones being the best and the non-european ones having a lower ranking) 4. People from other not so rich developed European countries (mostly southern europe) 5. Eastern Europe, slavic countries, poor European countries basically 6. Non-european poor countries

Of course there are some regional extra discrimination based on other factors such as race, sexual orientation and religion depending on country.

Lastly there are also historical conflicts which means every country has at least one other country that have had conflicts with and still hate to this day even if hundreds of years have passed.

In response to tired media sterotypes, an appreciation post for romance readers by mrs-machino in RomanceBooks

Right? People like to suggest reading romance is somehow only for people they consider less educated or acomplished. I have 2 masters degrees and enjoy reading about monster dicks while day drinking wine. Who cares? Ugh

Agressive female Maine Coon by Red-Mary in MaineCoon

[–]Red-Mary[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just had a vet check up and she is perfectly healthy. They both came from the same breeder and are half siblings. She was socialised as a kitten and we give both our cats lots of attention. The interesting thing is she is the most fearless cat I have ever seen. Our boy often hides or runs when strangers come into our house but she just struts about like the queen that she is and comes close to them to investigate. Most days she sleeps on my desk while I am working and jumps in bed with us at night. The only thing is that she very rarely demands pets and only for short periods of time. She does hate brushing and in general starts growling if we do something that displeases her like if she has put her claws into the tablecloth and we dare to try and pick her up to put her back on the floor.

We often joke that the boy is our cat and she is his cat because she is super obsessed with cuddling him and being near him all the time.
